I knew he would be awful defensively when we signed him. But it's still a joke that we have to substitute our $75M prize free agent signing with league minimum Kurt Thomas on defensive possessions to close out games.

I am disappointed with Boozer's offense, it is no where near compensating for his defensive shortcomings. At least Korver made up for his boneheaded plays today with what we actually brought him in for, clutch outside shooting. Boozer didn't punish anyone down low except with his offensive fouls, and he's fortunate he doesn't get called for those more often.

I will say that we really went away from Boozer late. He was actually playing well in the first when we were giving it to him. But like others have said, he thrives more in the P&R than being force fed on the low block. Foul trouble hurt him tonight, and late in the 4th it's Rose's time. But if we're not getting him involved in the offense, why is he out there? His weaknesses are magnified when we're not playing to his strengths.

For our highest paid player making $15 mil a year, he is pretty terrible. His hugely inconsistent play, his terrible defense, his injuries, his turnovers, his fouls... Dude is just going to continue eating up cap space until he's gone, which might even be 4 years from now. Not even close to enough of a low post threat to make up for all his deficiencies.

Boozer hating thread are getting old.

Without him the Bulls are a 1 dimensional team.

Face the facts already.

His averages:
06/07
23.5/12.2/2.9
07/08
16.0/12.3/2.8
08/09
20.6/13.2/2.2
09/10
19.7/13.2/2.9

07/08 was not up to par. His shooting was poor. Other than that, he's been fantastic.

Boozer kept the Bulls in the game in the 1st quarter with his scoring when Rose and other were struggling.

It's getting old hearing that the Boozer hate is getting old. The hate threads would go away if he played better. 12/6 isn't getting it done, especially when you combine his defensive effort and mistakes late in the game today.

I said it his first game back after breaking his hand "falling". He's lazy. He doesnt move his feet. He doesnt fight for anything. Might be the worst defensive PF in the NBA.

This contract is on par with the Ben Wallace contract.

No I'm not overreacting to one game. I have said it all year. This is EXACTLY what I expected out of him this game. Exactly. Maybe not the foul trouble, but I knew he would be able to guard TH on the perimeter. Tyler fcking Hansborough torched you Boozer. That must feel great. Most of us aren't surprised and are tired of it.

I don't see Taj Gibson putting up 20/10 or even 17/9 consistently like Boozer does.

On a non-related note, why don't you guys have Korver starting instead of Bogans?

It would help spread the floor a bit for the rest of the starters, especially Rose, if there was a sharpshooter that the defense had to always be conscious of.

If Korver starts, he'll get rest in between the periods and be back in to finish off the halfs.

I'm talking about this series in particular though. Bogans might be better in the starting lineup to cover JRich/Turk in the next series.

I wouldn't mind Boozer half as much if he actually tried on defense. It's not that he sucks, its that he just doesn't care. There have been so many times this season where he's a few feet away from his man taking a jumper, and he just looks at him. The lack of effort doesn't fit with this team at all.

What dimension does Boozer bring? It certainly isn't low-post scoring. He had one nice up and under move today which was probably his first real low-post score off an isolation play in more than a week.

The facts are when the game is on the line we go as far as Rose takes us. Our best plays are always spread the floor with Korver standing somewhere outside the 3 point line and Rose creating something off the dribble. This has been the pattern all season long late in the 4th quarter of closely contested games. Hell, we even saw Thibs pull Boozer for Thomas down the stretch, thank goodness he said forget Boozer's pride and went with the old man to close things out.

^^ Irregular, the Bulls were MOSTLY a One Man Team on Offense EVEN WITH BOOZER.

Deng is the Only Other guy Besides ROSE who sometimes come through..BUT maybe if you were objective, you would see Boozer is useless. Boozer will give you 14 points, but will GIVE UP 20+ POINTS.... so What Does he Really Bring to the table?!?!

He is also Good for a Turnover in Clutch Situations. Besides his Rebounding, he SUCKS.

People just have to realize that Boozer is a slightly above average PF at best. And in certain matchups, he can really be exploited.

Sorry, Kyrv, it's just the truth.

I'm really disappointed in Boozer, but I still have some faith in him. More pick & roll would be nice. He obviously is a better fit with point guards like Nash and Williams.

Defensively Tyler would have blown by him on the closeouts. Only Solution is for Carlos to sell out the jumpshouts and hope Noah or Kurt Thomas can cover for him. Our offense is still better with him on the floor as opposed to Taj.
