Now it's important that Terry doesn't choke from the free-throw line.

Well the Blazers fouled the right guy lets see if it pays off? Not this time but if I am the Blazers he is at the top of my list with Chandler.

89-81 Dallas in game 1.

Dont know who the player of the game is but Dirk with his 4th quarter and Kidd with his complete game should be the co-MVP's tonight.

i think jet-kidd-marion-dirk-chandker is the mavs best 5man unit offensively and defensively.

Awesome game, really should some balls to take that one out. Gutsy, gutsy effort. Props to Dirk for coming alive in the 4th and for Kidd to keep us in it when nothing was falling.

On a side note, I hope that we don't see Peja on the floor again, he was woeful. Couldn't stay in front of who he was defending and didn't hit the shots he is supposed to. I'd rather see Brewer in there, he can at least be a defender and provide some athleticism on the offensive end.

Some funny s*** on the Blazers thread. Apparently refs did their best for us to win this game )))

Great game overall, but it's heartbreaking for me as a Portland fan. I'd grown accustomed to 4th quarter implosions from this team, but I thought they had it out of their system.

It must be nice to have reliable outside shooting. Portland's lack of consistent outside shooting will continue to be a big story in this series.

Good luck the rest of the way.

LOL yeah. If the refs were to call the game correctly, Dirk would've had double the amount of free throws he had.

Anyways I think Kidd is the POG for me. Even though Dirk was in beast mode the whole 4th quarter. But Kidd were able to sustain his play throughout the game. While Dirk was practically invincible the first 3 quarters.

Our board is emotional and prone to blind homerism at times.

I don't blame the refs for the Blazer loss, but rather our scared offense. I also have to credit Dirk and Kidd for stepping up big time, particularly when it mattered.

Both teams had stellar moments and other times where you wanted to see the player commit suicide on the spot. Dirk straight garbage most of the game with excellent defense from PDX and Roy pretty much playing for us. LA is a beast, we def. need to adjust for him.

If we didn't have Haywood it would've been a blowout loss. He played tougher than Chandler.

Kidd looked ten years younger. That missed layup was hilarious.

LMA is tough. He really is quite a player. No one else on their team is even remotely scary. They aren't a very good team, but the fact that this is probably going to turn out to be a pretty tough series says a lot about the state of our own. I will pull for us with every fiber of my being until we are eliminated, but I am deathly afraid of the possibility of getting manhandled by the Lakers if we make it there.

I suppose objectively it was. I screamed at my TV, "How can you let him waltz in there like that?!" and then breathed a huge sigh of relief. The relief was very short-lived, though. :x

Curse you, Jason Kidd! Curse you for giving me false hope!

Good that u think so. Personally I think there was only one bullsh foul on Dirk in the 4th. But there were also two obvious fouls on Dirk in the 1st half, which weren't called. Generally speaking, I'm satisfied with officiating tonight.

Big win. The game was much closer than the result looks like. Dirk and Kidd with big moments in the 4th that saved us the game.

Oh, I was an emotional wreck throughout that 4th quarter, but it didn't have anything to do with the refs. :(

Very good win for Dallas...

What surprised me the most was that Jason Terry got 8 free throw attempts....

He attempted more free throws than field goal attempts.

I never thought I would see that.

Dallas needs game 2 as well.

Good effort.

It was shocking for me to see Terry drive to the basket time after time.
