I guess he just froze and threw at home instead of first base. But how come the runner at first went to second base and DeJesus ended up batting again.

I can only assume they called a balk on Verlander. In the video you can see him shrug his shoulders and explain he's not sure why he did that. I've never seen anything like that. Good find.

lol that is so funny.. when he first threw to home, i thought he was trying to throw out a runner from 3rd going home..

It was called a balk, that's why the runner advanced one base

I almost spat out my drink when i watched it the first time. Did DeJesus actually get hit, they don't show the play in teh right angle, if so Verlander might have just figured out how to plunk a guy without putting him on base, its revolutionary.
