Young_Star11 Retirement Thread

Post#1 » by Curtis Lemansky » Sat Apr 16, 2011 10:00 am

Fantasy Basketball Board regulars,

I would like to announce the retirement of one of the best moderators this forum has ever seen.

Jordan (Young_Star11) is stepping down as a moderator, his attention is demanded elsewhere for the time being, though I hope he will still be around from time to time.

He was a pleasure to work with and a pain to compete against thanks to his great fantasy basketball acumen.

I have put off making this thread quite awhile, hoping he would change his mind at the last second but his real life commitments made him stay put with his decision.

He is the one of the best fantasy owners I have ever known and his retirement after Dome and Dutch's retirements leaves a big void that is going to be very difficult to fill.

In the meanwhile, we have added two great moderators last year in Joe and Vince (Floppymoose and Loot ) and hopefully, along with Craig (Sly), the last remaining member of old-school titans, we will be continue to do our best in the fantasy basketball board.

Please join me in wishing Youngstar a happy retirement and the best of luck in his future endeavors.

Thanks Jordan !!

Hey Gokce, thanks for the introduction.

I am sad to leave but time is consuming me and I do have other endeavors to pursue.

My performance in the fantasy leagues I guess has been a little mixed, but I feel I have matured as a fantasy owner and the results are slowly starting to pull through (see FFDL as a case in point).

I will miss fantasy basketball because it has given me extra reason to follow the NBA. I will still follow the league and when I scroll through boxscores I will always wonder "how good would my team be if I had them on my roster?"

I have been a mod for nearly four years now and it's gone so quickly. Thanks to everyone who made this happen for me.

Jordan,

You did a great job as a Moderator.

I wish you nothing but the best in your post-college life.

Thank you so much for your service.

How do these various forum leagues work? Young Star has been in College this whole time? Jesus, I can barely find time to hang around here a couple times a week and was unemployed all winter.

It's always sad to see one of old timers hang up the shoes. Jordan offered an awful lot to this forum over the years.... a great deal of game strategy, a load of NBA knowledge, always willing to help out others, and an outstanding amount of fairness and selflessness when playing/commissioning. The total package, which earned him modship early on.

Knowing Jordan, he'll bring a lot to the table in those upcoming projects... please do keep in touch; and when life calms down a bit, you know where to look when you have some time to spare...

All the best in retirement, although it sounds as though your career is actually just beginning - so good luck in that!
