Raptors Fan here - Trade Question

Post#1 » by Rapsfan07 » Mon Apr 18, 2011 10:44 pm

Raptors fan here. Just wanted to see how you all felt about a trade that is being discussed on the Raptors board:

Bargnani + Barbosa + Evans (resigned) for Dalembert (resigned) + Garcia + SAC 2012 1st

How do y'all feel about that? Would you do it? A Bargnani + Cousins frontcourt would be a very complicated one to defend. Had some keys injuries not taken place this year, y'all probably would not have been in the bottom 5 this year. I would expect the pick to be late lottery next year the way the Kings are playing.

kings starting frontcourt will become softer on that trade. cousins is our scoring bigman and not known for his defense, bargnani is defensive liability too. defensive bigman like dally is the perfect frontcourt partner with cousins. i like barbosa but im not a big fan of reggie evans.

What would it take to get a package like that from the Kings?

Honestly, the Kings & Raptors are simply terrible trading partners.

I like the idea of trading for Ed Davis, but not at the prices that the Raptors would ask for him.

Additionally, if the Kings are going to trade a draft pick, odds are the Kings would be more likely to trade the pick from this years draft rather than next.

Nah. I just have very little interest in Bargs.

I'd rather keep our pick and Dalembert. No thanks

Bargnani is definitely the best player in this trade. He would fit really well with counsins offensively but like someone said before we would get destroyed on the defensive end against any quality big man. At least until cousins learns how to move his feet and play D without reaching and fouling.

I disagree. I would take the several things that Dalembert is good at over the single thing that Bargs is good at.

The Raps don't really possess what the Kings would be looking for, and you're looking for things from the Kings that they want to keep building forward.

In my mind, Casspi, Greene, and MAYBE Thompson are the most likely trade candidates along with our 2011 1st round pick. Beno and Garcia are in that, if they're needed to match salaries, or if we want to send out some contract liabilities in order to justify bringing in a high expensed contract(Granger/Iggy as examples).

Dalembert is a poor target as he's a FA and the Kings really would like to retain him and likely will. He and Cousins were great together in the frontcourt.
