DraftExpress: Biyombo has already declared for the NBA draft, so this doesn't affect his status there. It would make it easier for him to come over though

DraftExpress: Bismack Biyombo had a NBA buyout clause for 1 million Euros in his Fuenlabrada contract. Would be zero if he becomes a free agent.

DraftExpress: Biyombo will be free to sign w/any team in Europe once he receives his letter of clearance from Spanish federation. Could happen in 3 days.

DraftExpress: Biyombo's team served a notice of termination for multiple contract breaches, including failure to pay his salary or social security taxes.

DraftExpress: Breaking News: Bismack Biyombo has unilaterally terminated his contract with Fuenlabrada, following several breaches, his agent tells us.

Draftexpress has the guy at 6'9"..... pretty short for C.
But i'm all for stockpiling C's in this draft, if we don't land number one for Irving.

You don't block shots with the top of your head. He's the 5th longest wingspan in the entire DX database.
Biyombo:
7'7" wingspan, 9'3" reach
Thabeet
7'6.6" wingspan, 9'5" reach
Darko
7.5" wingspan, 9'3.5" reach
Bogut
7'3" wingspan, 9'2.5" reach
Howard
7''4.5" wingspan, 9'3." reach

If all we left the draft with was Biyombo I'd be pissed.

I'd rather have Burks then Biyombo. If we can land Biyombo with a pick in the teens then that is fine but if he gets picked in the top 5 then we're screwed for next season. I get that people like Biyombo because of Ibaka but think of all of the other failed Euro bigs. Heck Sene was a legit 7'0 and had a 7'10 wingspan and the Sonics were stupid for drafting him at #10 and he busted. I'd bet Biyombo is closer to that then Ibaka.

Sene played worse for a lower level team in Europe than Biyombo is right now.
I'd bet Biyombo is closer to that then Ibaka.
Based on what?
Edit:

I wouldn't be especially happy either, but I'd be happier than only getting Kemba Walker or Brandan Knight or Enes Kanter, etc. At least Bismack has great potential and really fits the team.

Sene also looked great in the world game, but he was rail thin and couldn't shuffle his feet.

I'm officially on the trade down for Biyombo bandwagon - if we can't draft Irving.

Perhaps, but unlike almost everyone else around that spot he's the biggest project.

I'm over picks, gimme someone that knows how to play the game, its a basic fundamental in building team to have vets, this team needs talented vets, KAHN get it done, get rid of the coach and get some coach that suits the personnel you have. Then you will get more wins, and more development, your players need to not only know the system but they have to buy into it.

Re: Prospect Watch Thread
Kanter is a guy I'd be considering at 3-4. I don't know that he fits our team but he seems like who will at least be productive, which means he'll continue to have trade value. That's the scary thing about Bimbo, maybe he'll be a defensive force but at worst he's a guy who has no offensive skills and 3 years from now won't even be tradeable.

Considering how successful he's been in the 2nd best domestic league in the world, I don't think this is much of a possibility.
His offensive game is definitely raw, but considering how young he is and how little basketball experience he has, there's reason to believe that he can improve upon it quite a bit. Even if he can't though, just look at Dwight Howard's early career. Based in large part on elite physical tools and dunking ability, Dwight was able to be a 20 ppg scorer.

Re: Prospect Watch Thread
If we can safely trade down for Biyombo, pick up a vet SG and grab Klay Thompson at 20 that would be fine. If we can somehow finagle a 1st rounder next year even better.
Tradeable players:
Flynn
Wes J
Pekovic
Ellington

Klay Thompson -- yawn. I'd rather target a defensive player like Malcolm Lee or Iman Shumpert. At least we get something we don't already have.
And Rubio -- assuming no Kyrie.[RCG] wrote:I'd add everyone else except Love and Beasley.

I believe Dwight had some perimeter skills coming out of high school. I also saw Krap compare him to Noah, but Noah could dribble and pass coming out of college. I haven't even seen Bimbo on You Tube highlights though, so I really have no idea how good he is. I'm just judging by what I've read.

I meant players we can reasonably expect some return for. I don't think we're gonna get much for the likes of Hayward. I figure if we draft Biyombo we trade one of Tolliver/Randolph, but maybe not. They're both worth keeping if nobody is breaking down the door to get them from us.

Watch, I bet we take him. Also, I bet he's worth it in a couple years. The trick is to trade Wes + whatev for a legit starter and then play Thompson behind him. I think he's got a slightly more versitile game than Ellington and makes a better prospect because of it.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
