IF Bryan gets extended and gives us 2 more years of this crap, Grange and the likes of him should be chased out of town.

I am sick of the Toronto writers freelaoding off this city.

The key point he makes is the timing. Even if you don't like BC (I personally do), now is the worst possible time to make a drastic change.

This is the beginning of a decade of mediocrity. We are saddled by the worst media in North America. A bunch of old boys that are in the business to protect each others jobs.

After watching this interview, I realized nothing will change. If we retain Bryan, it will be the worst decision that MLSE could make. I don't see a hope for this team at all under Bryan's leadership.

It's unfortunate that it will take more pain before fans realize how horribly mismanaged the sport is in Toronto.

I actually felt like my dog had died after Bryan's press conference, I had no hope left. It's more of the same.

Am I the only one that felt the press conference was anticlimactic? ( a huge fail)

I honestly feel we are screwed for a long long time. Did anyone come away wanting to renew season tickets?

Lol at your location Lodz. I guess Dagger was right.

The interview with Feschuk was really good.

lol, Lodz is quickly becoming my favorite poster. I'm pretty doom and gloom, but he kicks it up a notch! I like it, just when I foolishly thought Bryan might be changing, Lodz snaps me back to reality.

Feschuk chimes in with a fairly moderate article.

If Colangelo bounces the Raps are screwed (as in out of the playoffs and with crap, stifling contracts) for the next 8 years

Was I the only one who saw the irony in him defending his tenure? He said that we had a high draft pick coming up, young talent and lots of cap space. That is kind of similar to where we were 5 years ago no? Hes basically starting over from scratch again.

And before anyone says that there is no Bosh this time to force his hand, you only need to look at him and Triano stating that they intended to make the playoffs until injuries decimated the team. The summertime pursuits of guys like Klezia, Chandler, Diaw and Matt Barnes should be proof that there will be no large scale rebuild like a lot of people seem to want. We ve had 4 lottery picks already in the BC era. Hes basically starting from scratch again hoping he gets it right this time.

Anyone that looks at the Chandler/Diaw trade as support that BC and company weren't set on rebuilding is delusional. Sorry but a half wit realizes that trade is a trade that you make at any point in time, regardless of a rebuild or if you are vying for a championship. Kleiza and Barnes? Seriously? That is us making a charge? Give your head a shake, that is merely filling out a roster.

Everything BC has done post Bosh has supported a rebuild, period. And 95% of that has been solid moves. Whether you care to acknowledge the good moves or not, whatever. But using the moves you stated above as your ammo for not rebuilding is stupid.

The Raps were trying so hard to make the playoffs that PJ Carleisimo was talking about tanking for a pick last summer.

Colangelo has a really good draft record overall. DeRozan, Davis, Amare, Shawn Marion, Michael Finley, Steve Nash. Even Bargnani, as much as I'm not a fan, wasn't an awful pick when you look at the rest of the top 5 that year.

So if we're going to rebuild through the draft, then I want him here for that. He also seems to have (hopefully) learned his lesson on defence & rebounding. I think I'd feel more comfortable letting him continue with what he's doing right now than bringing in an unknown quantity at this point. Next year's draft is the one that's going to decide the team's future. If they're at the top of it and score a superstar they'll have the foundation for a contender. If not...

If his contract money is an issue for MLSE why not make it back-loaded so that whoever buys MLSE takes on the higher dollars?

For eg, if it takes $3 mil/3 years to get it done, then why not make the first year 2 mil, second year 3 mil and then the 3rd year 4 mil? You can play with those numbers to make the first year $$$ less and then when he'll really have his work cut out for him in years 2 and 3 of the deal that's when he'll make the serious $$$.

Unless they (Silvestri) has other issues with him, namely the nepotism factor that I keep reading about.

This

I posted that interview in another thread when trying to enlighten JRoc (Lost cause, I know). In it, PJ clearly outlines a rebuild prior to training camp. I believe it was his 1st interview and therefore highly unlikely he makes such statements on his own accord.

Now I am sure BC presented options 1, 2 and 3 at the beginning of the season. You always have to present options. But at the end of the day, the proof is in the final result. A 21 win season and a top draft pick. Posters that hate BC have an ignorance that is beyond comical. No matter what the final results are, they will hammer on what they believe his true intentions are in hopes of supporting their hate campaign. BC did follow a rebuild this past season and to most that is quite obvious. Yet some will try to state he lucked into this process, or it just happened despite what BC was attempting to do. Moronic to think that BC tried to not rebuild this season but ended up lucking out and doing so.

As a retired teacher, I always wonder, is MLSE a good investment for my pension plan. I think it must be.

As a Raps fan, I always wonder, are they a good owner. Probably not ideal, but I think they and MLSE give BC all the freedom he needs to spend and make moves. I do think he should be extended, for the credibilty of the franchise. It's not like Jerry West is going to come replace him, it would be someone like Babcock, a second banana elsewhere.

Also, I don't think there is such a potential owner in Canada as Mark Cuban, a guy with money to burn and willing to do anything to win.

I'm not quite sure, last I heard the ROI was less than 5%. I think they could diversify and do better.

Guess that's why they want to sell.
