I'm sold on the man. As long as we have him running a smoother offensive orientated game that doesn't involve much jumping he can still be effective, regardless of physical condition. Keep in mind Hill was healed in his late thirties while Roy is only around 25.

Yes but hill's ankle kept his knees/basketball age young. BRoy's knees are pretty shot.

We wouldnt give Amare a max contract, fearful he would get injured.

Now you want to trade for a max contract player that has already a career threatening injury?

I'll pass.

Ha! I did think I was gonna see at least one 4-team masterpiece in here :D

Totally. The article was crap and doesn't offer legit solutions to problems.

The guy doesn't talk about how to shore up the defense. He doesn't even realise that the best PG for Gentry's system isn't a sharp shooting scorer but a pure point guard. And it's pretty obvious we were going to let VC walk anyway.

Also pass on BRoy. Was one of my favourite players, but if we didn't offer Amare the contract he wanted because of his supposedly crappy knee, no way Sarver is paying BRoy with his already busted knees.

No to Broy. We need to take on low risk/high reward contracts not the opposite.

Our medical staff means nothing, Roy is done there is no rehabilitation if you don't have any cartilage left in your knee.

Also this article is major fail. How is re-signing/overpaying Aaron Brooks who is a below average starting PG in the league going to fix anything?
Continue to develop young bigs? We don't have young bigs outside of Lopez who needs to get back to his form from a year ago before the back injury first of all.

Letting Vince walk for nothing is (Please Use More Appropriate Word) too when his contract is a valueable trading chip. That would be just another cheap move by Sarver.

How did this thread become about Roy?

And I hope you all know that while the article may have been lame, its spot on. We are trading nash this summer, we will keep our big men, and we will focus on defense.

For what? And how do we improve our defense?

Sure the article is spot on, but it doesn't tell us anything we didn't already know and provides us with no real solution to our problems other than to just do it.

Must keep Nash. He's playing just as well as ever. How do people think his best days are behind him? He hasn't declined. Also, not sold on Brooks.

Imo, let Carter walk, get rid of Childress and that other guy we picked up, and rebuild around Nash and Gortat and Frye.

The Phoenix Suns - 2010-2011 Projected Record: 30-52 3rd lottery pick.

I agree. All this means a very lengthy rebuilding process barring lottery luck (which we will never get). I'd rather take a shot in the dark and hope we can get something of value for VC's contract, and make one last run with Steve. I'm all for resigning Brooks, but only at a reasonably price (35/5 or less). I'm okay with keeping Lopez/Gortat as our center combo, but think we badly need a new starting PF (not a knock on Frye, but he's definitely more suitable as a 3rd big). Wing wise, I don't mind keeping Chill (we're not going to get anything of value for him, instead would need to include value to dump him) but would love to see what Pietrus could net us (maybe a late first in 2012 from a contender?).

Let's see how this goes, boys!

Coming into this season the Phoenix Suns had been to three of the past six Western Conference Finals and averaged better than 55 wins per season. This year, however, the Suns fell back to the pack and find themselves preparing for the NBA Draft Lottery rather than a playoff run.

Let me guess - Bleacher Report?

edit: Hoopsworld? Really? They actually pay contributors, too - dreadful

Onluy if they throw in someone a better deal who we can really use ... Batum is a nice idea. Very impressed by him in the game v Dallas

I still would love to see Oden here

I thought there as some way to stimulate cartilage growth?
