2011 Schedule Release - Tonight at 6:00

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Tue Apr 19, 2011 4:16 pm

NFL Network and NFL.com will have it first. We already know the opponents of course and we know we will open the season at home on Thursday, September 8 (yes there will be a season, but that's a debate for another thread). Rumor is we open against the Bears. I want the Saints. We'll get the max Sunday/Monday night games. Probably plenty of 3:15 games too. I just don't want a Thanksgiving game in Detroit. Nor do I want a late season Thursday night game. Bears/Bucs are the London game, we dodged that bullet for another year.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

We also will probably have a few 3:15 starts as well.

The whole country will hate us based on how much we are on TV. I love it.

Not going to lie, I'm pretty gitty about this. Currently going through maximum football withdrawal.

Can't wait to see how much the entire country is going to be forced to watch us.

I've always prefered the Sunday noon timeslot to the 3:15 or night spots. Last year we had 8 noon starts. I bet this year it will be less. I'm hoping at least one of our CBS games ends up on Sunday or Monday night, I hate watching football on CBS.

New Orleans and Atlanta will both be in primetime.

Agree that the noon games on Sunday are my favorite. Probably just because it fills a time when I usually have nothing else to do. I really wish we weren't opening against the Bears, I'm tired of thinking of/talking about them.

I would think so. Although Fox does get to protect a certain amount of games.

Maybe I'm just more used to Fox broadcasts and their announcing teams but I don't like anything about CBS, from their pregame to their announcers, to their music. And as cheesy as the Fox pregame can get I like it for the most part.

I don't like watching games on CBS either, their whole production is boring as hell, though their HD quality seems better to me.

Sources tell #Chicago reporter #Bears to open against #Falcons; if true, it should mean #Saints open against #Packers on Sept. 8.

That would be a great start to the season. Although getting a dome team in December would have been good too.

Exactly. The Saints are notoriously bad in crappy conditions. Why anyone would like to play them when the game could be a track meet is beyond me.

+1

Still hoping it's the Bears.

I don't think our offense is exactly tailored for adverse conditions either so it ends up being a wash imo.
