Congrats Odom, well deserved. Let's see some aggressiveness from you during this Title run though.

Re: Congratulations LO: Sixth Man of the Year
He's come a long way since he's joined the Lakers.
People wanted to trade him because he was trash.
Then Odom was Mr. Inconsistent and only showed flashes of greatness.
Now, Odom has a better jump shot a pretty good one at that, and is consistently great for the team. Now, Odom just needs to bring home the Championship with Kobe and Co.

Re: Congratulations LO: Sixth Man of the Year
Congrats to Lamar!
He deserves some individual recognition for his basketball talents and I'm glad he's finally getting it. He's been one of my most favorite Lakers to follow since I became a Lakers fan 10 years ago. After all he's been through in life, I couldn't be happier for LO.
Let's get it LO! 16 more wins and we can fully appreciate you boy.

Well deserved for Odom. Hope he dominate in game 2. We all know he can do that.

Re: Congratulations LO: Sixth Man of the Year
Lamar is my favorite player on the team, and possibly in the entire league, so maybe I'm biased in my support of his victory. Still, I thought I'd blog about Lamar's victory and how THIS particular award was the most fitting major award Lamar could have won.

Congrats Lamar!
Lamar doesn't look out for himself, which is part of the reason why he is an astoundingly effective support player, or glue player. As a second option in 2006 and 2007, Lamar was an inconsistent sidekick to Kobe Bryant, a sidekick who never saw a rise in stats that usually accompanies being a clear-cut second option for a talented player in his prime. There's a reason for that: Lamar's not an "option"-type player, a blessing of a trait and a curse of a trait if Lamar's on your team. He won't dominate for you, but you know his decisions will always be in the best interest of his teammates. That's valuable.
Receiving the 2011 Sixth Man of the Year award fits Lamar. He's still only 31, still talented enough to start on teams. But he sacrificed and accepted his place as a sixth man coming off the bench for a championship team behind Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol. Atypical for most.

Congrats Lamar!

Pay no mind to the battles you've won

Re: Congratulations LO: Sixth Man of the Year
Maybe im just nip picking but for a while now lamar hasn't showed that killer/winning mentality he displayed earlier in the year, he plays hard in spurts instead of doing all the little things that help us win, he almost has a nonchalant attitude.
All those "we're too cocky quotes" really rubbed me the wrong way and made me question if lamar even gives a shyt now and days. hell i could make a case that none of these lakers gives a crap besides kobe.
All Im saying is it be great if Lo started playing with an earlier in the year mindset and really got after it instead of thinking everythings okay cause we're the big bad lakers.
Some might say well in the month of april hes avg 15, 8 and 3.5 and thats all good but watching the game just tells a different story. Hes settling far too much on his 18+ foot jumpers then you would normally want from your power forward. its just about playing with a sense of grittiness, attitude and urgency. and i just havent seen it from lamar in a while
again nip picking

Re: Congratulations LO: Sixth Man of the Year
Is 6th Man of the Year even an accomplishment that one can be proud of? Isn't it simply "The best bench player in the league"? We all know that "bench" has a bad stigma. "You got benched". "You're just a bench player". So why would anyone be happy or proud of such an accomplishment? If I was Lamar, I would be insulted.
Edited to add: Is Lamar the VERY first Laker to ever receive this "award"?

congrats lo,much deserved!
Only on realgm is 27,000 points, 5 rings, 1 rs mvp and 2 finals mvp considered overrated!
