Farrell Approval Rating (April)

Post#1 » by LittleOzzy » Thu Apr 21, 2011 1:55 am

March 2011 Approval Rating = 8.8
April 2011 Approval Rating = ???

Discuss how things have changed since March. I'll try my best to post a new thread once a month on the 20th or so.

Rated him a three. Makes a tonne of really bizarre lineup choices and his philosophy has led us to do some very stupid things, but no one has died.

Two. You can't intentionally walk Ichiro with 2 outs, keep poor starters in, put Dotel in a game against lefties, and run as often as he does with HR hitters to garner a much higher rating than that.

Also, I don't like benching Juan Rivera to make room for Jayson Nix after 12 games. It makes little sense.

So far not bad. I like his aggresive on base stealing and utilizing the bunt game.

I'm not rating him yet, but the lineup is weaker than last. Yes, we miss Vernon. No, not the contract, and not this year's version of Vernon, but last year's version gave the middle of the order real pop. And we miss Buck. Not the career average version of Buck, but last year's Buck. We've scored four runs in our past three games. Farrell has less to work with than Cito.

Would have been nice to keep Napoli and not trade him for a reliever that the team clearly doesn't need.

3 as well. way too many questionable decisions and a few baffling ones as well. this whole 'creating havoc on the basepaths' philosophy is gonna cost us a game or two someday. heck, we've been unrealistically lucky not being caught as many times as we should have. and he's left a few starters out an inning longer than necessary as well.

He's a rookie manager who has never managed any game before this year. Not going to pass any judgement until the end of year two. The most irritating thing about sports fans are their fickleness. I wonder how many people were gushing about him in the home opener? This is the year to build an identity with the next ironing the kinks out.

0- I don't get his decisions around bunting, excessive base stealing, bullpen decisions, lineup shuffles and pinch hitting.. I mean seriously? Johnny Mac on bases loaded? Are you kidding me??!! On top of all these issues, our offense has stagnated. We are hurting for runs. Not liking this version of the Jays.

would you rather have PH with Molina or Rivera?

I would actually PH with Molina. Take a shot, see what happens.
