Re: 2010-11 Toronto Raptors Trade Ideas Thread
I can't see us landing George, but yeah, there's no way Indy gives him up for Jose. Though he has been a bit unspectacular. I think we would definitely have to give up at least one of Bargnani, Amir, or Ed Davis. I'm still not convinced they would want Bargnani with Granger (good scorer) and Hibbert (poor rebounder) though. If we're convinced George will be a better pro than James Johnson, I think we'd have to dangle an Amir + Johnson duo for Posey and George. I think that's over paying right now, but it does have the potential to look great for us in the long run if we luck into Irving. Of course, if we end up drafting Barnes, we shouldn't even both looking Indy's way.

ballislife wrote:If we win the lottery... draft Kyrie Irving and trade both Bargnani and Bayless to the Kings for their 5th pick (if Kanter's still available) and Garcia for veteran leadership.
Sacramento gets a PF to pair with Cousins to space the floor and compliment him well. They also get a young PG with the ability to score and play off of Tyreke Evans. We add some leadership in Garcia and hopefully (if Kanter shows well in workouts) get a nice young C who can score down low and rebound the ball - giving us a nice front court rotation with Amir coming off the bench as the first big man filling in both PF/C spots.
Irving/Calderon
DeRozan/Barbosa
Johnson (or a FA like Green or Chandler)/Kleiza/Garcia
Davis/Johnson
Kanter/Ajinca/Alabi
Nice young and balanced team with a lot of talent and potential to grow together and make a very good team for years to come.
I've been thinking for a while that it would make a lot of sense to package Bargnani and Bayless together if we won the lottery, but I couldn't think of too many teams who would jump at such a package. I do like this idea though. I think this would be a hard deal to turn down for both sides.

Re: 2010-11 Toronto Raptors Trade Ideas Thread
- Felton wants to start
- Gallo was apparently available for a draft pick
- Nuggets need a PF (Kanter)
Heres a deal i think is pretty good for both.
To TOR: Felton + Galinari
To DEN: Calderon + #3 (Kanter)
then
To TOR: TE (Carmelo trade) + Conditional 2nd Rounder
To DEN: Barbosa
i think that would work well for both. Den re-signs Chandler, they wouldnt need to re-sign JR as Barbosa would be there.
Lawson / Calderon
AA / Barbosa
Chandler / Singleton (#22)
Kanter / Harrington / Koufos
Nene / Andersen / Mozgov
Felton / Bayless
Derozan / Weems
Galinari / Johnson
Davis / Johnson
Bargnani / Pachulia (Klezia?) / Alabi
Klezia for a guy like Pachulia or someone like that. Thats a very nice lineup.

Re: 2010-11 Toronto Raptors Trade Ideas Thread
Everyone talks about Bargnani to MIL but has us taking Maggette. I don't think we need to they would be giving up the 10th pick in apparently one of the weakest drafts ever for a 21+ PPG scorer who's 25 on a team starved for offense. That's a good deal, I propose this without Maggette.
To TOR: Maxiell + Delfino (waived) + Dooling + #7
To DET: Sanders + Klezia + #10
To MIL: Bargnani + White
DX has Kanter at #8. I think we could get him at #7 or get Val or Bismack Bioymbo It would depend on our scouting and who's there. Ideally I'd pick Kanter
DET grabs a SF which they need, move down in the draft a bit but get Sanders to play beside Monroe
MIL grabs Bargnani. Delfino can re-sign with them as he would be waived. They would have the MLE to fill out the roster + cap holds on guys like Luc Richard Mbah a Moute and Earl Boykins
Bayless / Calderon / Dooling
Derozan / Barbosa
Barnes / Johnson / Weems
Davis / Amir
Kanter / Maxiell / Alabi
Is a pretty nice lineup. I'd be fine with Bioymbo or Val at #7 too just I like Kanter for some reason and I'm hoping he falls ala Ed Davis because he hasn't played and refused in the hoops summit. My guess is he won't workout with many C prospects and he falls and I'd grab him.
Jennings / Watson (signed) / (Boykins
Salmons / SG (MLE) / White
Maggette / Moute
Bargnani / Irsan / Brockman
Bogut / Gooden / FA (vet C)
OR
same trade if Kanter isnt available take Val or Bioymbo
and
To TOR: Galinari + Koufos
To DEN: #3 + Barbosa
Bayless / Calderon / Dooling
Derozan / Weems / SG (3 point shooter)
Galinari / Johnson
Davis / Amir / Koufos
Bioymbo / Maxiell / Alabi
id be happy with that team. Ideally we luck into the top 2 and get either Irving or D.Will along with the trade with the Bucks and Pistons but i like Gallo more than anyone at #3 with Barnes out

Re: 2010-11 Toronto Raptors Trade Ideas Thread
Or i just thought of this with MIL. Their the only team with a pressing need for a PF and scoring in the lottery so
To TOR: Maggette + Sanders + #9 (Bioymbo/Kanter/Val)
To MIL: Bargnani + Klezia
Jennings / PG / Boykins
Salmons / Delfino
SF (MLE) / Klezia
Bargnani / Irsan
Bogut / Gooden
Solid team.
Then
To TOR: Diop + Najera
To CHA: Maggette
Assuming we luck into top 2, D Williams is there because Kyries gone
Bayless / Calderon / PG(FA)
Derozan / Barbosa / Weems
D.Williams / Johnson / Najera
Davis / Amir / Diop
Bioymbo / Sanders / Alabi
I like that team

Re: 2010-11 Toronto Raptors Trade Ideas Thread
I'd be fine with it, but Diop, Najera, and the 9th pick isn't a very inspiring package. We take on a lot of junk for a draft pick that doesn't look like it would have much of an impact. I think I'd prefer just sticking with Bargnani, at this point, but again, I could live with it. Are we convinced the Cavs/Kings/Bobcats wouldn't make a better offer for Bargnani?

i dont know, ideally we take the Kings pick. I just dont see them offering that when they have Dalembert + Thompson... Also Cousins is bad defensively i dont think they would work together, offensively they would but defensively is a different story. Bobcats dont really have anything that MIL doesnt and i think CLE would just stick with draft picks rather than take on huge contracts but maybe im wrong (Bargnani for TE + #8?) Him and Andy V would make a good pairing, add Irving/D.Will thats a nice team
Davis / Sessions
SG / Gibson
Williams
Bargnani / Hickson
Vajero / C
however I thought or something like this after reading this article, i know bleacherreport but still.
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/6695 ... -for-grabs
To TOR: S&T Marc Gasol (14 million starting, x amount of years)
To MEM: Andrea Bargnani + James Johnson
In the article it mentions anything not named Bargnani but Randolph cant play C so i think Bargnani would be the only one who makes sense.
for mem bargnani would offer a cheaper C option and JJ gives them some SF depth. Bargnani also helps their 3 point shooting. I think with Conley/Allen on the wing it would help cover his defense too..
we overpay, get a defensive C and use Jose to lure him.
maybe im completely off base but for example Randolph got 71 million, one has to think Gasol would get something close to that. 70 million for arguments sake, the difference is they save 29 million in exchanging Bargnani and Gasol....
thats a ton of money so i dont know maybe its plausible? Maybe as i said im completely off base from both sides (Too much for Gasol on Toronto, doesnt make sense for Memphis). I just think if we have to overpay to get a young defensive minded big C then so be it. We obviously look at a SF then in the draft and if there isnt one trade it for a young SF (example Gallo)

Saw this idea on NBA Draft.net, I like it,
To Toronto: Kaman, Mo Williams, 2012 1st rounder(fr Minn)
To Clippers: Bargnani, Caledron
What does this look like now and later? Any chance Clips do it? Me Likie..

I have no idea why the Clips do it, but I'd accept before they could blink.

Re: 2010-11 Toronto Raptors Trade Ideas Thread
To TOR: Delfino + Dooling (absorbed through TE) + #8 (Bismack Biyombo or Knes Kanter)
To CLE: Sanders (absorbed through TE) + #10 (Alec Burks)
To MIL: Bargnani
Raptors get a legit defensive C, no bad contracts, Delfino is unguaranteed, save 7 million.
Cleveland gets a backup PF in Sanders to backup Hickson. Burks gives them a much needed starting SG. Im assuming they draft D.Williams and the draft goes something like CLE, TOR, MIN where CLE likes D.Williams over Irving. Or if not we win the lottery
i just assumed because Davis, Sessions, Gibson is already a lot of PGs and they have no SF.
Bucks get scoring at the PF spot. Delfino can return to the team and sign with them.
Then:
To TOR: Biedrins + House (waived) + Jones (waived)
To MIA: Calderon
To GSW: Miller
GSW gets a big SG to play with Ellis/Curry off the bench and spell both of them. Save money on Beans contract too, 4.6 upfront to sign a C like Dalembert with their cap space.
Curry / PG
Ellis / Miller
T.Jones / Wright
Lee / Udoh
Dalembert / Amundson
Heat get their PG and can fill out the rest with minimum player m
Kyrie Irving / Jerryd Bayless / Keyon Dooling
Demar Derozan / Leandro Barbosa
James Johnson / Linas Klezia / Sonny Weems
Ed Davis / Amir Johnson / Joey Dorsey
Andres Biedrins / Bismack Biyombo / Solomon Alabi
love that team. Id hope Bioymbo would be there he seems to have that killer instinct and Garnett like mentality which can completely change a team.
my version would go like:
Williams (Cle)
Irving (Tor)
Kanter (Min)
Val/Vesley/T.Jones (Was)
Walker (Sac)
Knight (Utah)
T.Jones/Val/Vesley (Det)
Bioymbo
imagine drafting a SF like Harrison Barnes in 2012 (good friends with Kyrie)
Irving
Derozan
Barnes
Davis
Biyombo
playoffs here we come

Draft day trade:
To Minnesota-
Enes Kanter(3rd pick)
Amir Johnson
Jose Calderon
TPE
5 mil cash
future 1st(top 10 protected)
To Toronto-
Kyrie Irving(1st pick)
Darko Milicic
Luke Ridnour
Rubio has expressed interest in playing for Minny next season. They bring in Jose to ease his transition to the NBA. Kanter is a better replacement for Darko and Amir is good depth at PF.
This opens up a trade for Kevin Love who already stated that he might not re-sign with Minny.(maybe to Indiana for this years pick, Brandon Rush and a future unprotected 1st?)
Minny:
C- Kanter/Pekovic/draft
PF- Randolph/A.Johnson/Tolliver
SF- Beasley/Webster/Hayward
SG- W.Johnson/Rush/Ellington
PG- Rubio/Calderon/Flynn
Toronto gets the PG they need to turn their franchise around. Darko and Luke add depth.
Trade:
To Dallas-
TPE
To Toronto-
Brendan Haywood
Dallas gets rid of Haywood's contract and re-signs Chandler.
Toronto gets a true center to pair with Bargnani.
Free Agency-
Try to sign Wilson Chandler or Jeff Green(not likely with the new CBA but we'll see)
sign Joey Dorsey cheap
sign Sonny Weems cheap
Final Roster:
C- Haywood/Milicic/Alabi
PF- Bargnani/Davis/Dorsey

I was just thinking Minnesota could be a good trading partner for us. I could see them wanting someone like Calderon to back up Rubio to help show him the ropes. They have some players like Milicic who is a decent shotblocking centre, Ridnour who is a good back up point guard, Webster who is a decent 3 point shooter/defender off the bench. Any two of those players could work on our roster if they were to play the correct roles.

Bargnani + Kleiza + Alabi + Calderon + A. Johnson for Josh Smith + Marvin Williams + Z. Pachulia.
Depending on CBA, we can try signing Marc Gasol and Shane Battier and steal from the Grizzlies. :O
C - Marc Gasol/Zaza Pachulia
PF- Josh Smith/Ed Davis
SF- James Johnson/Shane Battier
SG- Demar Derozan/Leandro Barbosa
PG- Kyrie Irving/Jerryd Bayless
Sadly this will never happen.

Re: 2010-11 Toronto Raptors Trade Ideas Thread
What does everyone think of this... Yes we take Reshard Lewis but I have reasoning.
I like the praise Kanter has got. So id only do this if Kanter is there and assuming we get Irving
To TOR: Lewis + Posey + #4
To WAS: Bargnani + Calderon + Klezia + #15
To IND: Blatche
* you can also leave the Blatche part out of it. Make it simply
To TOR: Lewis + #4
To WAS: Bargnani + Klezia + Calderon
* or switch Klezia with Johnson? I just want Kanter + Irving
Raptors would get Kanter hopefully
Washington get Bargnani, a backup PG and move down
Indiana gets a young PF that fits with their lineup
Wall / Calderon
Young / Crawford
Klezia / Booker
Bargnani / Blatche
McGee / Seraphin
* looking at that I think they'd want Johnson which I'd be fine with
I just have this feeling the draft shakes out as
CLE
TOR
MIN
WAS
Cleveland taking d.will and looking to take a PG in the later part of the draft. They have Davis,Sessions and Gibson. I'd take Burks at #8 personally Davis/Burks/Williams/Hickson/Andy V. Is a very nice starting 5. So Irving falls to us
My concern is MIN taking Kanter...
In which case I'd offer. I'm basing this off them liking Val too and they need SG help.
To TOR: Pekovic + #3 (Kanter)
To MIN: Barbosa + #4 (Val) + Alabi + Cash
Final Roster:
Kyrie Irving / Jerryd Bayless (6th man)
Demar Derozan / Sonny Weems
Reshard Lewis / James Johnson / James Posey
Ed Davis / Amir Johnson
Enes Kanter / Nikolia Pekovic
Like it? Possible?
I think it's beautiful lol. Next year we waive Lewis, he's 10 million guaranteed saving 12 million. Draft a SF like Barnes and your set. It's an easy way too to get that SF integrated into the lineup. Gilchrist or Barnes
Kyrie Irving / Jerryd Bayless
Demar Derozan / Sonny Weems
Harrison Barnes / James Johnson
Ed Davis / Amir Johnson
Enes Kanter / Nikolia Pekovic
So balanced and I love it.

I just have this feeling the draft shakes out as
CLE
TOR
MIN
WAS
Cleveland taking d.will and looking to take a PG in the later part of the draft. They have Davis,Sessions and Gibson. I'd take Burks at #8 personally Davis/Burks/Williams/Hickson/Andy V. Is a very nice starting 5. So Irving falls to us
My concern is MIN taking Kanter...
In which case I'd offer. I'm basing this off them liking Val too and they need SG help.
To TOR: Pekovic + #3 (Kanter)
To MIN: Barbosa + #4 (Val) + Alabi + Cash
Final Roster:
Kyrie Irving / Jerryd Bayless (6th man)
Demar Derozan / Sonny Weems
Reshard Lewis / James Johnson / James Posey
Ed Davis / Amir Johnson
Enes Kanter / Nikolia Pekovic
Like it? Possible?
I think it's beautiful lol. Next year we waive Lewis, he's 10 million guaranteed saving 12 million. Draft a SF like Barnes and your set. It's an easy way too to get that SF integrated into the lineup. Gilchrist or Barnes
Kyrie Irving / Jerryd Bayless
Demar Derozan / Sonny Weems
Harrison Barnes / James Johnson
Ed Davis / Amir Johnson
Enes Kanter / Nikolia Pekovic
So balanced and I love it.

2 expiring vets that help now. A young big to add to the Scottie timeline
I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

^^^ Dude you might as well try and concoct trades for Lebron James and Tim Duncan while you're at it.
Those trades are a pipedream.

Draft:
Enes Kanter (3rd pick)
He is the BPA at 3.
Trade:
To Dallas-
TPE ($7,624,500)
To Toronto-
Brendan Haywood
Dallas rids themselves of Haywood's contract and re-sign Chandler.
Toronto gets a much needed physical presence around the basket.
Free Agency/Trade:
To Denver-
Linas Kleiza
Amir Johnson
To Toronto-
Wilson Chandler(sign&trade-5 year/50 mil)
Chandler agrees to sign a big contract and start for a young Toronto team.
Denver takes what they can in return, two very serviceable roll players.
(Toronto might also throw in Alabi who has ties to Denver's gm)
sign- Joey Dorsey
sign- Sonny Weems
sign- Bobby Brown
Final Roster:
C- Haywood/Kanter/Alabi
PF- Bargnani/Davis/Dorsey
SF- Chandler/Johnson/Weems
SG- Derozan/Barbosa/Weems
PG- Bayless/Calderon/Brown
If this team stays healthy they can easily finish 6th or 7th in they East.

Go look at Haywoods contract on www.shamsports.com and tell me youd do the deal again..
revising my WAS/TOR deal.
To TOR: Lewis + Delfino (waived) + #4 (knight/walker)
To MIL: Barbosa + Klezia + Bargnani
To WAS: Dooling + Sanders + Maggette + #10 (Kawhi Leonard)
WAS saves 6 million upfront, move down in the draft no one really at #4 is going to help them (Knight/Walker/Val being the BPA) and Leonard really would and getting Sanders as a backup big to blatche would be big too
Dont know if the bucks do it. I broke down the value like this. Maggette + Sanders + #10 = Bargnani (because were taking a bad contract in Maggette and #10 in a weak draft) then Klezia/Barbosa for Dooling/Delfino both are expiring (same as Barbosa) but are needed to make it work for TOR.
Walker / Bayless
Derozan / Weems
Lewis / Johnson
Davis / Amir
Kanter / C (Calderon) / Alabi
Jennings / Watson (signed?) / Mack (2nd round)
Salmons / Barbosa
Moute / Klezia / R.Butler (signed?)
Bargnani / Irsan / Brockman
Bogut / Gooden / Magloire (signed?)
solid team though...
Wall / Dooling / Morris (2nd rounder)
Young / Crawford
Leonard / Maggette
Blatche / Sanders / Booker
Mcgee / Seraphin
same for them.

Sure I would do that Haywood deal. The final year is not guaranteed or a team option and he can be moved the year before as an expiring. So, that makes it 3 years in Toronto at 9 mil max on the final year. Price you have to pay for a decent big man in this league, especially when your PF is so soft.

i think a more fair deal rather than Haywood for the TE (because when your taking on 34 million dollars you get incentive thrown at you, we get none in this deal) is...
Calderon for Haywood + Jones
Calderon plays behind Kidd but they are going to need someone to take the PG reigns from him eventually. Roddy B plays SG, they re-up Chandler
Raptors get a C and a young guy like Jones.
