This thread's been a bit depressing the last few days. Let's not forget that we still have a good shot at some real quality talent. Man Kyrie can just impose his game on folks.
Bemoaning this draft too much is useless until the lottery.

Hey did u guys hear about DWill's right pinky broken finger and how he played through it, fingers aren't that big health concern right? Kobe played thru it lol. So let's hope not. If somehow we ended up drafting him and he becomes injury-prone then...umm....
but anyways, it doesn't look like it's a severe injury. We basically have Irving and DWill going thru injuries in their college days, just hoping these injuries won't haunt them later on in their career (e.g. B-Roy tho his was knee injury)

Here's an article on Jeremy Tyler:
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/04/21/sports/basketball/21iht-BASKETBALL21.html?pagewanted=1&_r=2&adxnnlx=1303315212-FPoq8NM6aTlpc6IxLc%20Rqw
I still like the idea of possibly taking him with a late 1st/2nd rounder if we can, the kid has great physical tools and a lot of talent.

Frederick - how is that injury at all a bad thing? I think it personally makes him an even more appealing prospect.
1) Having one broken finger is not conducive to being injury prone.
2) The fact that he was determined enough and played through adversity just so his team could win (while his stock could suffer)
3) the fact that he was still able to dominate while playing with a broken finger

Thanks for the Kyrie video to slap me out of my slumber!
I can't quite put my finger on who Kyrie reminds me of in the NBA.
He certainly doesn't have the athleticism of Wall/Rose but I can see the CP3 comparison for sure. He's much more methodical in running the offense and much less dependent on sheer athleticism to make plays like Wall/Rose.
Anyways, I'm not being a debbie-downer until after the lotto. If we stay top 3 I'm happy with Irving, Williams or Kanter.

Whats everyones opinion on the Knight/Kemba debate. Dr Mufasa to say Kemba is going to be the next Jonny Flynn is a joke, hes accomplished more than Flynn and you have been an advocate for drafting Jimmer pretty high.
Jonny Flynn: 17 PPG, 6.7 APG, 3.4 TO, 2,7 RPG, 1.4 SPG
Kemba Walker: 23.5 PPG, 4.5 APG, 2.3 TO, 5.4 RPG, 2 SPG
Id take Kemba over Knight personally. I think hes going to be a star, his overall demeanor and he gets written off to easily IMO.
Why is Knight higher on peoples board? Because he had a good end of the season tournament? Kemba did it all season and won the tournament.... his handles are insane and his step back is very D-wade like. The lineup id like to see next season (assuming we dont luck into the top 2) is.
Walker (Bargnani trade)
Derozan
Johnson
Davis
Kanter
then in 2012 draft a SF and were set.
watching this video just makes me want to draft the kid, what a step back

sick crossover

and he can dunk..

Watch this and tell me we shouldnt draft him

hes nasty and assuming we can trade Bargnani for another pick, draft the kid and take Kanter with #3

I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

You make it sound like Knight carried the team on his back to get to the final 4... he was awful in more than just one game. I don't even know how you can debate who the better leader is when Kemba had the season he did. There is no evidence to suggest Knight can lead a team
its a team game. kemba didnt do it by himself either. no evidence to suggest Knight can lead? Did you watch the tournament? Hitting game winning shot against Princeton? Hitting game winning shot against Sullinger and OSU , the best team in the country? As a freshman Knight stepped up BIG TIME, no evidence to suggest Knight can lead a team???? How many teams in the final four can you remember whose offense was being led by a guy straight out of high-school who has never been to the NCAA tournament before?? Are you for real. Tell me one team in the final four this year that had a freshman as the center of its team.... , or the year before? Tell me one freshman who comes to your mind that has hit as many game winning shots in the NCAA tournament that has played as much of a role for their team as Knight did for KY ??
Princeton? you mean the game he was 1-8 and seemingly was invisible up until the winner? ya right. Or OSU where he was 3-10 with 6 to's? Ya I must of missed those games...
Listen I like Knight's potential but he hasn't shown he's a killer like Kemba has. UConn won every tournament they played in this year with Kemba as their best player in virtually every one, he is without a doubt a better leader than Knight at this point. The fact you keep sighting Knight as a freshmen comes off like its some sort of excuse, there is no evidence to suggest he will grow leaps and bounds over Kemba because he had a better freshmen year, Kemba was groomed in a veteran laden team Knight wasn't.

You are comparing Walker's numbers as a junior to Flynn's numbers as a sophomore. It is much more logical to compare both players as sophomores:
Walker: 14.6 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 5.1 apg, 1.74 a/t, 2.1 stl, .403 fg%, .767 ft%, .339 3fg%
Flynn: 17.4 ppg, 2.7 rpg , 6.7 apg, 1.97 a/t, 1.4 stl, .460 fg% , .786 ft% .317 3fg%

I think Walker could prove a lot of people wrong. I don't want us to be the team that gambles on him though.

Walker reminds me a lot of the good Aaron Brooks. Who was a borderline all-star.
I really like his game but it depends what pick and it depends on how the big men do in the workouts.

I don't think Walker or Knights are going to be all-star players.
I think both will have long careers and may start on occasion but I don't see anything to suggest anything more than that.
Both players had terrible FG% and I think look a lot better to folks because they were given the full green light on their team.
As Wanker pointed out, Flynn was much more efficient than Walker and Flynn hasn't been able to put his game together in the pros.

Me too. I'd rather have James Johnson at the 3. How is Vessley, a 6-11 SF, going to defend athletic 3's like Lebron, Melo, Durrant from the perimeter?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that what he does on offense is "more complicated" than defending Lebron, Melo, Durant, etc., so don't worry about that. He would be another "seven-footer" out there!

^That's 'cause Vesely is a PF, who will a nightmare for opposing 4s, with his ability to run the court, work in the post, and stretch it out to the 3. This guy is very good around the basket. Defensively, he'll be able to defend PFs adequately imo. He's got good length.

Kyrie looks like he plays at Stephen Curry's pace, but more distributing and less scoring.

Appreciate the vids. However, Vesely vid is mostly dunks against crappy defence or fast breaks. Didnt really see him fight through much contact. Do we really want a tall, skinny 3 pt shooter? No. Id rather see some failures in the vid that shows what his weaknesses are and what he needs to improve on.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.
