Portland fan here. Dallas is so much better than Portland in the clutch. It terrifies me. Good luck going forward, but I don't think you'll need it.

No help for DIRK down the stretch and RC running the offense through Barea.

Why is RC using DIRK for screens on a play where they need a 3?

It's amazing that we were even IN this game as bad as we started and how hot Portland came out, on top of Portland getting call after call. We didn't play well enough to win, but answer me this. Why is JJ playing almost the entire 4th quarter. the Kidd, JET, JJ lineup is only cute for a minute or two

Another thing I don't understand is why Marion doesn't attack the basket more. He's been very impressive closing the regular season, and now he just doesn't wanna score for some reason.

The Blazers played the best they could with big efforts by Mathews and Roy (who wont do it again) and we turned it over like crazy, uncharacteristically missed free throws and played the whole game without Chandler. And we still could have won this.

Clean the mistakes up and we'll come back home up 3 to 1 where Portland will cave.

That's pretty much what I took away from this game too. Portland played GREAT and we made tons of mistakes, and after all of that, it was still a close game

We lost at the free throw line, and Chandler got himself in foul trouble, none of those calls were even questionable. This happened the last time he played in Portland as well. Dirk may have been able to force the issue but he wasn't as aggressive as before.

Also the 3 guard lineup was a bad call. There was no justification for it and Carlisle stuck with it way too long. If Dirk and Barea make their fts we'd have been in the game though.

Turnovers and FT shooting. And Chandler to stop being a dumbass even though the refs were kinda tight on him today, all of his fouls were stupid fouls that were preventable.

sucks to lose a game where it might be the only in the series where terry steps up in a big way

f*ckin ft's killed us and the horrible play to end the 3rd that leaked over into the 1st 5 minutes of the 4th

barea shouldnt play that long in the 4th again, no reason to go offense over defense especially when anyone can get there shot on him and he's taking touches away from our 2 best options

Camby got some key offensive rebounds and Dirk missed his FTs. Its inexcusable, Dirk makes his free throws and we can win this game.

What a wasted performance from Terry. We will probably never get the same production from him again.

I can live with Haywood going 2-6, but the rest were seriously choking from the line.

Exactly, you could see their gameplan was to try to ISO Barea on the block with Miller or whoever he was guarding cause they know they win that every time.

Mavs couldn't defend the three pointer.
Carlisle went to the well with Peja and came up dry.
Dirk and JJ missed 5 free throws.
Kidd turned the ball over 3 times in the first quarter alone.
Chandler whines too much. Just shut up and play!
Thank God Terry came ready to play, without him it would've been embarrassing.

I'm not blaming the refs for losing the game, thats loser talk like other places on this board, the reason the Mavs lost the game for me is...

1. Rick Carlisle effing.... Well I was gonna use an explicit analogy, but I decided against it. There was absolutely NO REASON for Rick to stick with Peja and JJ that long. NONE. The stretch to start the 4th quarter we played without a center and the lead went from 2 to 8 in about 2 minutes, we never recovered. The other (Please Use More Appropriate Word) move was in the 2nd quarter JET is strutting around flexing, Dirk embarrassing LMA on the block with post moves, its the most SWAG the Mavs have had all year, and RC outta the timeout leaves JJ on Dre Miller, and he just goes to work, it's like my little brother trying to check me growing up, I can do WHATEVER I WANT. Momentum gone, Portland retakes the lead. OUR COACH IS CLUELESS SOMETIMES.

2. Dirk misses 3 FTs, JJ misses 2 in the 4th quarter, we miss 6 in the 4th quarter. can't have it and win a playoff game.

3. Jason Kidd was simply terrible tonight. Just terrible. He turned the ball over, made TERRIBLE decisions, dribbled the ball and run the shot clock down under 12 routinely before even initiating the offense, I don't know what it was with him tonight? The long plane ride? AWFUL. JJ sucked too. Point guard play didn't get it done tonight.

4. I'm not gonna blame the refs, but Tyson Chandler wasn't allowed to play basketball tonight. He simply wasn't, not that he was any good when he was out there. Haywood is playing CIRCLES around him right now, its not even close. All the touch fouls and calls around the rim went to Portland tonight. All of them. It was almost WWF style tonight.

All this and the Mavs were down 3 with a min to go. I'm not scared at all. The Mavs are obviously a better team. The better team will win the series.

Time for Dirk to show up and play well. He's played ok, put up numbers, but hasn't just had a beast game yet. Time for Dirk to show why he's one of the 15 greatest players of All Time on Saturday. Saturday is your day Dirk.

Props to JET, you were a beast tonight.
