Ever so slightly baffled by this. Emaus is nothing special, but he could be a useful bench bat at some point. Malone is trash; I'd be shocked if we ever saw him in a Jays uniform.

Yeah, AA's moves are becoming more baffling by the day

Napoli for Francisco made little sense, this one is flat out ridiculous. A 28 year old reliever who has never been above AA, seriously ?

The Napoli for Frank makes sense from the perspective that Frank is likely to garner a compensatory pick.

I can't find a redeemable way to view this deal.

Apparently there's a PTBNL or cash coming back as well. Of course, when you're talking PTBNL/cash, you know that the player list consists of one-legged midgets and rodeo clowns.

Even with the one-legged midget in tow this makes zero sense. And trust me, i'm ok with one-legged midgets.

One of them can be big-league crappy. The other is probably AAA crappy at best. Even if all you have is a nickel, you shouldn't trade it for a penny. Unless it's Brad Penny.

heh, true.
but without even glancing at the minor affiliates' rosters, i'd guess that maybe the trade fills a roster need.

Makes little sense. Whatever. More Jayson Nix, it is.

Right. Unless, say, Nix were to get injured and you had a major league ready replacement who you just traded for a reliever who is going to filling out the 51s pen for the next couple of years ( in a best case scenario )

Instead of Rajai Davis, it would've been nice to pick up Eric Young Jr. from them in the off season. Even now, he's in the minors only because there's no room for him on the big team. He's a 2B but he can play CF too. Great OBP and elite speed, perfect for lead off.

Ya nor sure why they were so motivated to get rid of Emaus.

I guess on one hand, it makes sense if they don't project a future for him with the team, and want to give him an opportunity. But it's not like they have that much middle infield depth...

Return to Toronto Blue Jays
