Tyler Honeycutt is as much a sharp shooter as I am a rogue scholar and as much a SG as Boris is a C.

Obviously haven't seen much of the kid, ay? The best part of his game is his shot, and it figures to get even more improved come full time work. Honeycutt is routinely projected as a SG by most scouts and if you watch him, he plays like a SG. He would get destroyed as a SF.

41% from the floor and 36% from three and 74% from the line makes him a sharp shooter and the best part of his game?

Yeesh!!!

His projected as a SG because he makes Tayshaun Price look like Paul "Mr Wonderful" Orndorff.

Question:

Will taking Terrence Jones make up for not getting Terrence Williams? Is this a Terrence thing? Are the Bobcats just a Terrence away from being a real contender? By the way, I think the guy we got instead of Terrence Williams is turning out pretty solid. And I think Terrence Jones may turn out a good bit better than Terrence Williams anyway. If it is not Kanter at #9, I think my vote goes to Jones.

Jones suffered when he went to role player status in Kentucky. He has too much of a star mentality to play second fiddle and doesn't know how to coexist with another guy taking lead scoring duties because he needs the ball to shine.

He can rebound pretty well for a SF but I think he's going to have trouble guarding the quicker wings because he's a bigger guy. He's also not the best outside shooter so you can't rely on him to spot up. You draft a guy like Jones to be a focal point (read big scorer) on your team.

If you want a Pippen/do it all guy, go with Leonard
If you want a guy who can score in every way, including off the ball, go with Hamilton
If you want a guy to build around as a 1st or 2nd option, go with Jones

On a side note, great prospects returning to the college may actually be a good news to us since we are expected to be around the worst of the league next year ,aren't we?Top pick in a strong draft FTW

That's why I wouldn't go with NBA ready type of pick. I want to sure we don't play way too much better than expect losing our pick next year. Any trade oiut od this draft should be considered if a chance to do that appears. Even exchange of second rounders if we would get a 2012 one.

Again, you have to watch the kid play. It's about potential. He has one of the purest strokes you will ever see and just needs to put the work in. Your ignorance is shining brighter than the sun on a perfectly sunny day....

We should be better next year than this....Consider what the team did under Silas and the fact we would be adding talent in the form of 2 first round picks this year and potential free agents. PLUS the natural progression of DJ and Hendo as young players. I would be very surprised if we took a step back next season...

I see some of the new mocks have us taking Jonas Valancius with the 9th pick. I don't mind it. The kid is a C but is very raw and would take a couple years to really mature. I think he has some attitude problems, at least rumored problems, but he is loaded with potential. I think I would take the risk on him...

So then moving on a name that has given me some interest is Tobias Harris. A lot of scouting reports seem to think he is a complete player and has the potential to be a very solid starter in the league (maybe like a Hendo level starter...just very consisent but not all star level). WHat are your thoughts on Tobias Harris? And for the second round what about a guy like David Lighty? A sharp shooter off the bench at SG with great size. He seems like a really good guy to come off the bench for Hendo. In the 2nd round? He could be a steal if he is there.

Would we be happy with a draft of Jonas/Tobias Harris/David Lighty?

Not sure yet on J.V. and if we take him at #9. But I see ESPN has him going 4th, so seems to have a lot of promise with all the mocks.

I would love to use our 2nd rounder on Josh Selby. Listed as a 6'2 PG, but more of a combo Guard. Still, I think he would be a solid compliment to DJ at the PG spot and can score the ball nicely. Great with dribble penetration and very solid defensively. Very decent shot we can get him in the 2nd as he is projected anywhere from late 1st to mid 2nd. If our first 2 players are fitting some needs with a Big and a SF or PF, I'd really want the 2nd rounder to be a Guard.

Please dobn't use JV. With both Valnciunas and Veselý in the draft that could gets tricky:-)
Same for Morris twins and Thompkins and T.Thompson.

You're right about Lighty. Lighty had the 5th best +/- avg. in college basketball this year. That's the kind of cheap efficient guy we need on this team while we try to horde capspace. Of concern, though, he has broken the same foot twice in the last two yrs. Is he an injury risk?

Combine that with his paltry 37 free throw attempts in 22 games, and it's no surprise why Selby ranks as the least efficient scorer amongst players in our top-100 prospects ranking."

Tell me what you see in Selby?

Biyombo at 9 would be a steal.

I am still iffy about a 6'9 center with no offensive game when our problem is not defense, but scoring.
