A couple more corrections, once again I will delete this once the list is updated ;)

Chicago's second round pick was traded to Minnesota by Sacramento and Toronto has the LAL 2nd. Golden State has Philadelphia and Sacramento's second round picks.

I gave credit to Luke and Babyjak, didn't realize you had a part in it as well. I was asked to run the draft but if you want to I'm more then willing to hand it over. Respect to you for your hard work none the less, it's a thankless job chasing down who's picks are who's. Hopefully I don't suck to much.

Just for reference on the draft, please use:

http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=9303 for the rookie salary scale. 120% of the value listed is what we will use. An no excuses, Memphis :p

And so to get this thing moving, Portland selects with the newly acquired no. 1 pick

Image

Kyrie Irving

17.5 points (52.9%, 46.2%), 3.4 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.5 steals in 27.5 minutes for Duke

The consensus number one pick in the draft, Irving dominated the few college game he played and we're hoping he can become as dominant as Chris Paul over the course of his career.

With the 2nd pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Philadelphia 76ers select,

Derrick Williams

Image

Even though this pick doesn't fill a need, we felt as if we needed to just pick the best player available. With Young, Randolph, and Williams, we're set at the F position for the next 10+ years.

I got a question on draft eligible players since I haven't played in awhile. Is it still anyone who is in the 2011 mock drafts from nbadraft.net and draftexpress.com + seniors? Or are guys like P. Jones, Sullinger, and Barnes eligible?

nbadraft.net and draftexpress.com + seniors, so Jones, Sullinger and Barnes are out.

The 3rd pick has just been traded to the Hawks. They will be picking instead of GSW now.

The Bobcats select Brandon Knight PG from Kentucky with the 5th pick. We need to hit a home run with our pick and we needed a point guard. Knight was the best chance at both. We were also considering Kemba Walker but he's too short for my liking. I think he'll be a liability on defense.

Dallas selects Jonas Valanciuanus. I am shocked he lasted so long, and even though he was not my target with this pick I think that it is the right decision to go BPA. This means that he, or Greg Oden will be on the block.

THE NEW ORLEANS HORNETS ARE PLEASED TO SELECT

7TH PICK.............................Donatas Motiejunas

This was an easy decision at 7 we liked donatas, jan and kemba but having only blatche at PF this was the only choice. With blatche, aldrich, pleiss and now motiejunas new orleans have a nice young 7 ft bunch of young future bigs. We are especially excited about pairing motiejunas with pleiss. The new orleans team are starting also to look like a euro allstar team with rubio coming over in free agency.

Lithuania Birthday: 9/20/90 NBA Position: Power Forward Class: International Ht: 7-0 Wt: 224 Team: Benetton Treviso Hometown: Kaunas, Lithuania Euro Cup Profile

NBA Comparison: Andrea Bargnani

Strengths: Versatile lefty bigman with a high ceiling ... Has a lot of potential due to his size, agility and offensive development ... A finesse 4-man with excellent versatility, but shows the toughness to play inside with contact ... Shows a strong ability to run the floor and change directions, start and stop ... Has great legs (strong) and feet (quick) ... Has inside/outside ability with the ability to defend inside and play with his back to the basket, as well as knock down shots on the perimeter ... His outside shot has both range and consistency, and he has begun to develop some excellent moves including a jump hook, a turnaround fadeaway as well as fakes to draw opponents off their feet and excellent footwork ... Shows a competitive fire. He has a strong desire to win and improve, he just needs to show that at all times ... Gets off the floor quickly and has solid explosiveness ... A solid shot blocker ... Comfortable handling the ball when necessary to break the press and has solid vision and passing ability ... Has a very good body and appears that he will be able to add upperbody strength and become a solid rebounder and interior post player at the NBA level ...

Weaknesses: Is extremely talented and he knows it. At times he doesn't keep the pedal to the metal, exhibiting some lapses in focus and intensity (laziness) in practices ... Sometimes appears content to be better than others without dominating them the way he's capable ... That's the type of thing that he'll need to mature out of, learning to work hard at all times in order to reach the stature of a Gasol or Nowitzki ... Still needs to add polish on his moves on the perimeter but has excellent potential to do so ... Has thin arms and upperbody, although he has solid strength. He'll need to get stronger to contend with NBA bigs ... Solid length (6-11 wingspan) but nothing extraordinary ... Not as experienced or established as other European talents (such as Gasol or Nowitzki) were when they entered the NBA.
