Jeff Green an enigma
Hated losing Perk in the trade but I was excited to see what Jeff Green could bring to the Celtics. After watching him play the rest of the season and 4 games in the playoffs I am still trying to figure out his game. He seems to be a terrible rebounder for his size and shoots at an average percentage. He has a burst of energy here and there but then is a ghost for several plays. Is he playing differently because he isn't starting or isn't getting enough minutes? Can Thunder fans maybe enlighten me as to what his potential is now and possibly in the future?

He is what he is, IMO. His inconsistent jump shot will hold him back from being what I would call an above average starter. Even though he played 37+ minute a game here, he also had the tendency to disappear especially on defense and on the boards. There was the famous game against Memphis where he played ~40 minute and didn't grab one rebound.
Unless he improved his jump shot his destiny is career 6th man. He can be a marginal starter at SF if you have other shooters around, because he can post some SF's as you no doubt know, and he's great running the floor.
He's going to be 25 years old at the start of next year, so I don't think we'll see any dramatic leaps in skill...

We are still trying to figure out what he is.
When he was our PF , he created mismatch but it seems he got dominated for height rather than creating chances with his relative quickness. We thought then he was suited to a bench role forward but primarily an sf.
After the trade his rebounding mode seems to be the same and Boston still think he's a PF who post. He can post but don't make that his only offense. I'm not sure why Davis gets more shots than him. Though it's probably hard to get him minutes behind pierce. He probably need an offseason to adjust in Boston, what you see then is pretty close to what he is.
He seems more reluctant taking shots at boston.

I just think Jeff Green is a Small Forward who has been ask to play Power Forward for most of his NBA career. When he was in OKC he played with Durant and Westbrook who are both focus on getting their game going then setting up teammates and when he was traded to Boston he just doesn't want to step on the big 3 toes. I don't think we actually seen the real Jeff Green yet. Maybe next season we will once he has a full training camp with Rondo and the big 3.

I really don't understand what this thread is about obviously OKC fans will not give an honest answer and want to propagate that Green was not needed in OKC.
Well Perkins is overrated turning the ball over more then his points. He's an asset for a young team like OKC since they need a veteran to teach them defense. The Celtics is the number one defensive team in the playoffs we dont need Perkins. Green is an asset that has paid dividends against Carmelo and ultimately and will defend Lequeen.

Eh, the question was never about whether we need him in OKC.
Just saying, if you read the subject, "Jeff Green an enigma" which shows that everyone is aware he's talented, but just that he's not showing what OP thought would be his full potential, hence his questions.
