bartman/cubs movie coming out

It's been 7½ years since Game 6 of the 2003 National League Championship Series, when a foul ball left the bat of Luis Castillo and tracked its way into the outstretched arms of Bartman, transforming an anonymous, meek 26-year-old Little League coach into the human target for a century of Cubs frustration.

Gibney's new film, "Catching Hell," which is scheduled to premiere Saturday at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York, probes the question of why. Not why did Bartman reach for the ball or why did Moises Alou act like a bratty 9-year-old when he failed to catch it, but why did Cubs fans choose Bartman as the target of their rage that night?

I still dont understand why bartman got all the hate...most of the blame should be on the manager for ruining the careers of wood/prior. prior was gassed in that game, he needed to be taken out but wasnt

Or Alex Gonzalez booting a routine 6-4-3 on the next pitch.

Everyone forgets that one.

I always thought that the Cubs fans who ruined this poor guy's life over a game which he didn't lose them were just plain stupid. Honestly a fanbase like that deserves to be cursed for another 100 years. That foul ball probably doesn't get caught anyways, and like said before Gonzalez committed the error that let the runs in. Sports sometimes brings out the worst in people, people who apparently have so little going on in their lives that their entire identity is tied to a team. And this is one example of that.

(Note, not blasting all Cubs fans. Just the idiots who took out anger over a bunch of overpaid baseball players blowing it on a fan who did something that a fan does multiple times at every baseball game.)

Cubs are so cursed that the franchise just needed someone outside of the team to put the blame on. They have gone out and done all they coudl to try to make themselves a contendor, so some fans had to blame something that was out of the teams control... in this case an innocent fan.
