Rate Your Wings

Post#1 » by blackham9258 » Tue Apr 26, 2011 3:28 am

Of your wings who will be free agents this year or next what order would you put them, and which if any do you see not resigning if they get an offer?
Afflalo
Chandler
Gallinari
JR Smith

For example: I would list them in this order, and I would let JR Smith walk if he got a contract offer that wasn't worth matching.

Who is untouchable if anyone?

I agree with your order, but if chandler gets a high offer unworthy matching i would let him walk, the key thing for me is dont get cap strapped, thats the thing that ruin most teams in the long run

Dissapointed we aren't talking about these wings because they are #1.

With the way the playoffs have gone so far, I don't think any of these guys are going to get unreasonable offers in the summer, especially when you consider the looming lockout and potential salary cap cut. If we can dump of at least one of Felton or Harrington, I think we'll be able to resign all of Afflalo, Jr, Chandler.

I don't see JR coming back, would be happy if he did, but I think the problems between him and Karl are never going to go away, and karl obviously is here for the next few years.

I would rank the players Afflalo, Gallinari, JR, Chandler, and forbes for importance to the team after last night, with the expectation that JR and possibly chandler may not be back.

With the way Chandler has been playing, I think he'll get an affordable contract with the Nuggets this offseason and eventually resign.

With the way Chandler has been playing I don't know if I want him to get an affordable contract with the Nuggets. Prior to last night I was leaning towards liking Chandler slightly more then Gallo, after Gallinari finally stepped up a little, I am leaning the other way.

Denver fans have seen Gallo and Chandler at their worst in my opinion. I dont know if its nagging injuries or the trade but both players are MUCH BETTER than they have played as Nuggets. Both guys are capable of being 20ppg-7rpg guys in the future. Chandler when healthy is a strong defender and one of the best finishers in the league around the rim. He also has a good mid range shot. Gallo at his best is better from outside than he has shown, better as a slasher, has a nice mid range turnaround jumper ala Dirk, and is better from the ft line. I think they both need a off season to heal up from assorted injuries. Gallo has had knee, wrist, toe and achiles injuries this season. He needs to get healthy to really show how good he can be.
My eyes glaze over when reading alternative stat (not advanced stat) narratives that go many paragraphs long. If you can not make your point in 2 paragraphs it may not be a great point. :D

because you don't like Felton at SG, or has he been disappointing?

He's a backup PG that's trying to play like Michael Jordan. And when we need him to step up (ie make FTs) he fails miserably.

A bit of both, but I actually like him. I just don't like him on the floor at the same time that Lawsome is on the floor, which seems to happen quite often even though it really shouldn't.
