Is it your toe that hurts or is it your pussy???

I've supported Boozer all season and said he earn his money in the playoffs. I'm tired of making excuses for him. If your shot ain't falling, you can still help your team by playing smart defense or .... something... something besides being the biggest on court cheerleader.

Seriously a **** toe injury??? Take some Midol like Bosh does and play your game....

I know turf toe is a legit injury but the bullsh*t with Boozer is starting to pile up...

Man... Luol Deng has soared into the clear, the glue guy hero, and rightly so, while Boozer is whipped mercilessly by the fan base, of which he too, is deserving of plenty of the criticism.

Though not for an injury but for his play.

I'm not saying I believe this, but it wouldn't surprise me if when Boozer heard boos coming down on him at the UC, he decided to say **** it, take a foul, and go sit on the bench.

Does this mean more Taj? I'm glad. We were much better without him tonight.

Not sure if it's injuries or the lack of continuity, but he just has gotten worse as the seasons progressed. That being said, I'm not giving up on him. He had a good game 2, and he can be a huge factor moving forward. If the guy could average 20 and 10 for 2 months of this season, I know he still has something, he just has to find it. Perhaps a change in opponent will be what it takes. I was similarly worrying about noah and it seems like he may have just rediscovered November Noah. Now we need booze to rediscover December/January Boozer.

Here's the stumper with Boozer. The first 10 games or so after he came back, when Noah was still there mind, he played very good.

His scoring efficiency was high, like normal Boozer (around .580 TS%), but more importantly, good things were happening for the offense even when he wasn't scoring. Guys were cutting and moving, Boozer was passing both inside the paint as well as back out to guys like Korver and Rose at the arc.

Ever since he went down with the ankle and came back though, he just has no energy to his offense. He idles with the ball even longer than usual, rarely decides to attack but takes those weak jumpers and fadeways. The rare times he does find it in the post, his hands are fumbly, as he rolls bunnies off the rim, comes up short on point blank hooks, and generally just plays very small so that any decent sized or strength PF can block and disrupt him. I just don't get it.

Is he really just that slow of a healer, and sat out legitimately all those years in the past, and maybe we rushed him back on the ankle because of the pursuit of the top record? It's a mystery.

Seems like he just needed a reason other than "poor play" to explain why he didn't play late in the game.

You can see how good we are when we have a defensive PF who can score at least decently inside which is kinda why I want the Bulls to go that route in the future by acquiring someone who can be that option down low next to Noah (assuming we can't land Howard).

In the meantime, Boozer had an awful series. He guarded a 6'9 Hansbrough who doesn't give a height disadvantage over Boozer yet Boozer struggled so the idea of Boozer struggling against PF's in my opinion is more of a mental issue rather than a physical disadvantage in my opinion as prior to 2008, Boozer never struggled against tall bigs.

I won't even begin talking about the injuries Boozer has caused this team as it's just frustrating knowing he can stay healthy.

Doesn't Taj have turf toe as well? He's been playing with that for awhile if I'm not mistaken?

We're gonna need Boozington going forward. So here's to him getting both his physical and mental health in order these next few days for a title run. Not that the fans matter much in this issue, but the negativity being piled on Booz is getting a little old now and is unproductive. Maybe some positive thinking in regards to Boozer will turn the karma gods in our favor and we'll see a vintage Carlos Boozer help us to these final 12 victories. :D

this. we all need the support the booz like his teammates are, he's a big part of what we're trying to do and he's gonna be here a while so no need to be so hard on booz. he just went through a rough stretch in this series. he's gonna come up big at some point

I think he just needs to have one good game and he'll be OK. A different opponent can't hurt either.

Rewatching the game... he's not favoring either foot at all. He didn't show any signs of an injury when he said it happened either. I'm thinking this is him saving face.

This is part of why I've hated Boozer for the last several years. He's always too "hurt" to play, plays no defense, goes through long slumps in which he misses everything, is annoying as hell when he always complains for fouls and IMO is a fake tough guy like Bosh.

Also wanted to add it's nice to see Taj play good. If Taj could only play like he did at the start of this season consistently, I would prefer him playing over Boozer the rest of the way. With that said, he hasn't been reliable most of the season.

If we end up playing Atlanta next round, Boozer has a height advantage on a much weaker Josh Smith. He shouldn't have anything mentally to fear even if Smith is a good defender, being overpowered is something that seems to mentally cripple Boozer.

Josh Smith is much more athletic though. He can also shoot a bit 3s. Boozer will get destroyed on the defensive end again.

Boozer annoyances:
*Bad hands, loses the ball a lot, resulting in way too many turnovers.
*Gets his sh*t blocked A LOT, or stripped without getting a shot off.
*Pushes off with the free arm a lot while driving or going to the cup, resulting in offensive fouls.
*Pushes guys in the back trying to rebound, resulting in fouls.
*Settles for too many contested outside shots.

Other than that, he's OK :-)

I read the best quote on ESPN about how poorly Boozer has played
in the Indiana series:
"Carlos Boozer is playing so poorly that Utah fans are embarrassed."
:-)
"I wouldn’t call it a rebuild; more of a retool.” - Gar Forman, June 2016

Taj isn't that much better with his poor shooting, and his foot injuries.

It's been a bad year for a majority of the Bulls big men for injuries.

Without Boozer teams will go running after Rose as soon as he gets the ball and they will ignore everyone else.

The front office should have just told us his toe is broken and sent that bum home. Taj Gibson is our man.
