After this season, with Phil gone, the Lakers might need to start looking at building their next team.

Chris Paul is probably going to want out of New Orleans. And they will likely want to get something for him instead of losing him after the 2012. How about offering up Gasol this summer and see if they bite? Are they likely to find a better deal than that anywhere, even if they wait until the end of next season?

I know that the general rule is that you don't trade a big for a small. But this "small" is arguably the best PG in the game. And more importantly, he's got a killer instinct.

And how about Bynum for Dwight Howard? Again, what other offer is Orlando going to get that is as good? Do they want Dwight to leave for nothing?

Most of those young athletic pgs are looking to get paid more than mle money. NBA 2nd and 3rd contracts can be huge and long. Especially after a rookie contract. The pay raise is huge.

Meant to say Sasha 5.5 mil + Blake 3.5 mil = Hinrich 9 mil.

That's what I was hoping for. I do like Blake. I want a lock down defensive PG that can shoot and is physical.

Kyle Lowry is the guy I want at point. I've heard he isn't happy that Houston let Adelman go.

Another REALGM member was kind enough to put this together

Point Guards by salary

Remember the younger elite pgs are playing off their rookie contract. And are about to cash in. Most will get raises if not significant increase in pay.

Lowry is a baller. He was actually a highly ranked fantasy pg this season.

Hornets will never trade CP3 for Gasol.

Magic will never trade Dwight for Bynum.
