Re: Cammo's 2011 NFL Mock Draft
I've heard a few rumors that if Gabbert is available at #7, the Niners might trade down with Washington or Minnesota (and pick up Prince instead). If something like this was to happen, what would be the asking price?

For the Vikings:
@12 - Excellent Pick in Prince A.. (BPA & need)
@43 - Good Value Pick in Phil Taylor (BPA & need)
Both of these players would be starters from Day 1. Our CB personal will transition to secondary with Prince on board. Taylor will take over Pat Williams stating position.
Alternative Picks @43 would be Benjamin Ijalana, Stephen Wisniewski

Re: Cammo's 2011 NFL Mock Draft
For the Ravens:
Round #1: Heyward is a pretty good pick here. He could eventually replace Redding playing opposite Ngata. OLB is still a pretty big need too. Right now, Suggs is the only consistent pass rusher on the team and when he gets tired, the corners are like sitting ducks. I wouldn't be surprised if Ozzie went and got a pass rushing OLB with the first rounder. Justin Houston and Akeem Ayers are both possibilities.
Round #2: Great pick. I expect that Ozzie will be targeting guys like Smith and Young in the 2nd round. Too many possession receivers on the roster and not enough who can stretch the field. If neither is there, he could look for someone like Denarious Moore in a later round. Sleeper WR pick for Baltimore could be Deandre Brown. He's definitely the type of high risk, high reward pick I could see Ozzie making.
Round #3: I still don't think Baltimore takes a CB early on, unless they move up for Amukamara, since Peterson is out of reach. With a roster full of #2 corners last season, I don't see the point in drafting another #2. Webb and Foxworth are healthy again and two of Washington/Wilson/Carr will probably be back next year.

Re: Cammo's 2011 NFL Mock Draft
Detroit is loaded at DE quantity-wise moreso than any other position on the team, they have 5 guys that are possibly worth a roster spot, it makes no sense to take Aldon Smith. If they were going to splurge for a DE, they would do it for Bowers only and I'm willing to bet they have Bowers much higher on their board. I even have Kerrigan higher on my board than Aldon, and I'd be willing to take Castonzo ahead of him. We need a LT for the future, and many other positions, and might already have to cut one of our interesting DE players before we even add one!
They might even be willing to take Jimmy Smith or Pouncey or a RB ahead of Aldon there. Liuget at DT is worth close to that range, and yeah we have Suh, but we still have more DEs on the roster than DT.
Also, Rahim Moore at 44, don't see him dropping that far, or Leshoure dropping all the way to 59. And I can't see the Lions passing on Bruce Carter in the 3rd round for some lame OT, we already have Jason Fox, a low round OT project, we need a high round OT or no OT in this draft. We are extremely thin at LB and I'm telling you Mayhew is going to go after some LB in the 2nd or 3rd round, if not a pair of them in this draft.

Where did you hear that? Everything I was reading was that the pick would come down to Quinn or Julio Jones. If they go Fairley at #6, Quinn will go #7 and likely Gabbert #8.

Heckert staunchly defended Fairley whenever he was asked questions about his character, effort, one-year wonder status, etc. The biggest clue that they really liked him was when a reporter asked why is it that Quinn is rated above Fairley and he responded by saying "well, that's not everybody's perception." So basically: they really like Fairley and have him over Quinn.
Based off of everything I've read, here's what I think the Browns big board looks like:
1: Dareus
2: Peterson
3: Green
4: Fairley
5: Quinn
6: Miller
The whole Jones thing is a smokescreen. Holmgren's and Heckert's draft philosophies don't align with them taking Jones, at least not at #6 with who is there.

I just read an article saying Andy Dalton might go #8 to Tennessee. This draft is officially crazy.

Do you have a link? Cause I saw a story where he was asked about player criticisms and he attacked the nature of how rampant questions are in general during the draft, but didn't see anything specific about Fairley. This article here is what I saw, and the guy writing the article is voicing his opinion about Fairley being good pick, not Heckert though, so I ask the same question the other guy asked, WHERE did you hear this or see this...

Well his team did go undefeated and he was highly productive. He had the highest completion % of any QB in the draft, well at least anybody talked about as a top 3 rounds QB. Scott Tolzien of Wisconsin hit 73% this year for best in the draft. He also has the best TD/INT ratio of any of the premium QBs. Sounds like he's a good smart kid that possibly has less off the field concerns or character concerns than the rest as well. That's a lot of categories that he is definitively or arguably #1 in, why shouldn't that average out to give him a healthy stock?
While we are on the subject though, my QB sleepers include Greg McElroy, very statistically sound, Tyrod Taylor, also good stats and an exciting athlete that can also run the ball, Scott Tolzien, cause he's Big 10 and quietly under the radar so could be a great value as UDFA, although my fav choice is still Kapernick who was my favorite QB overall in the draft for risk/reward, primarily cause I'm impresses with his record of hitting milestone numbers in passing/rushing. I think a lot of NFL teams don't properly use QBs as runners enough, but I think if you planned around having 2-3 QBs that were dual threats, then you could afford some of those hits and take advantage of those values as well as increase your injury insurance overall by not relying almost 100% on a single QB as the majority of teams do, at least to more of a degree than they should.
But to manage all that right, you have to have all your ducks in a row. You can't let a guy like Michael Vick slip past you and go to a team like the Eagles. That still pisses me off and will piss me off for the rest of my life. PHI had McNabb and Kolb, they had TWO QBs, they couldn't possibly have needed Vick as bad as many other teams, yet somehow they got him. That's not because they were smart, that's because every other team was stupid and incompetent and now they all have QB issues. So if I'm a team like Arizona or what not, it's not as convenient now to draft Kapernick with my 2nd round pick, cause it makes a difference if I'm pairing him with a guy like Vick that I want to give breathers to, than if I am forced to do something else. It makes more sense to get Vick first, and then have that multiple tiered gameplan to try and pickup a proper backup, so I can say hey if Colin is there in Rd 2, that might work, but I can also look at Tyrod Taylor in the next round or what not, I have options.

Panties in a bunch much?
Here...have at it:
(On Nick Fairley and how his stock has risen and fallen since the National Championship game)- "That's part of this whole process. If you guys watch those mock drafts and they are changing guys every day and I really don't know for what reason. You watch the tape, you make your decision and you go from there. I think he is probably going up and down less than what is perceived to be. I think there are a lot of players like that though. You hear about new guys jumping all over the place and it just doesn't happen in the real world."
(On if Fairley is a one-year wonder)- "He is one-year wonder from a sack stand point. He played. I think it's a great thing to have 11.5 sacks as a defensive tackle. That's impressive. There is probably no other defensive tackle that is close to that in the draft so, you can't say he is a one-year wonder. He had a really good year but you can't say that he didn't have a good year as a sophomore. I think that's blown out of proportion too."
(On how Quinn is rated as high as Fairley even after missing the 2010 season)- "I wouldn't say everybody's perception."
(On if Fairley takes plays off)- "The stuff that is being thrown out there, it really bothers me. Some of the stuff you hear about is legit, but they toss around a lot of stuff way too easily and I do think it affects the kids. I personally don't like it. As a scouting whole in the NFL we bring it on ourselves and it's not a good thing. The scouts talk too much about their opinions to other people and I don't think they should. It's not an issue for us."

Re: Cammo's 2011 NFL Mock Draft
He's not really saying that much great about Fairly, moreso saying that you can't say these negative things about him. What does he say specific about Fairley though? He mentions the stat as a number is impressive for that position, along with some stuff that makes no sense. He says he is a one year wonder from a "sack" standpoint. He then says you can't say he's a one year and that's because nobody else comes close to him in those sacks. But how can he BE a 1 year wonder from sack standpoint, but not a 1 year wonder based upon how high his sack count was? That's not good for Fairley, those comments are just stupid mumbo jumbo anyhow that has no logical meaning to them.
He didn't say Fairly had a good sophomore year, he just said you can't say he had a bad sophomore year. A mild remark about people blowing stuff out of proportion isn't specific about Fairley or staunchly in defense of him. it's mild fluff that could be just be polite talk or trying to market that Fairley's stock shouldn't have a penalty so maybe he can find a buyer. But it doesn't really say anything direct about his love for the man or the player.
And then a whopping "it's not an issue for us". That's another comment that isn't positive as opposed to invalidates a negative attack, one of which doesn't make any sense at all. The concept that somehow Fairley takes plays is a weak claim that nobody has yet to make a logical argument for, and he's merely acknowledging the standard position that silly claims are just for quick dismissals, and so he dismissed it.
Where is the staunch defense of Fairley?
