The Enes Kanter Bandwagon Thread

Seems to have a good assortment of inside and outside moves, albeit against much smaller opponents in this video. Really sucks that he could not play at Kentucky, he is an intriguing prospect but even with the 3rd pick its a little nerve racking to select someone who has not played in a year.

Sorry if already posted.

I like him; but how patient are we willing to be. From reading posts on this board; Raptor fans like the idea of getting someone with tons of upside; but if he isn't the next Ewing (which he sort of reminds me of...), the fanbase will go bananas.

I still wouldn't draft him. Knee concerns and lack of playing time last year are huge redflags. His skillset is intriguing but when drafting someone third overall you need a much larger sample size to work off of.

Also, BC will be jizzing his pants when he sees him draining all those threes.

He best not be shooting 3's if we pick him.

Dude has a 2 inch vertical. I hope we don't draft this guy.

Spencer Hawes or Robert Parish? Tough to tell.

Combine measurements are gonna make or break this guy. Who knows if he could get his shot off against bigger competition from videos like this.

Dude is tailor-made for the Sacramento Kings.

That's one skilled, strong big man.

Caliper test measurements are gonna make or break this guy...

ftfy.

he's a nice prospect, but is he really a 3rd pick? we need a surefire game changer that we can drop in immediately and his skills immediately translate, especially with a short season.

He looks way too short to play C in the NBA. Its early 2010 so for his sake he's grown since then.

LOL at those guys calling him a stiff & comparing him to Hoffa.

I really question the sports knowledge (& general common sense) of this board sometimes. It's mostly guys that haven't done any homework at all (have watched very little game tape).

This is a highly, highly skilled verstile big man. He can hit jumpers, play the post, rebound & block the odd shot. He may not be a highriser, but he is very, very mobile for a guy that is over 260lbs.

He seems to be as skilled as Bargnani, but can actually rebound & play the post.

I can't believe that this guy is only 18 y/o. The guy is years beyond any other bigs his age.

Patient? He's possibly the most NBA ready player in the draft.

Patrick Ewing? Not sure if you are joking or not. I hope so.

He was a consensus #1 overall, franchise changing draft pick. The kind that only come around every 10 years or so. He's a HOF player, named one of the 50 greatest ever to play the game.

He averaged 20 points, 9 rebounds & 2 blocks as a rookie.

Rookie of the Year (1986)
All-NBA First Team (1990)
All-NBA Second Team (1988, '89, '91, '92, '93, '97)
NBA All-Defensive Second Team (1988, '89, '92)
11-time All-Star; One of 50 Greatest Players in NBA History (1996)
2-time Olympic gold medalist (1984, '92)
NCAA Basketball Tournament Most Outstanding Player (1984)
Naismith College Player of the Year in (1985).
Number 33 Retired for the New York Knicks
Elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame as a member of the class of 2008.

There is nobody in this draft that is expected to come anywhere close to a Ewing type career.

Nobody is expecting anything from Kanter other than being a legit starting C. If he actually became an allstar, he will have exceeded pretty much everyone's expectations.

All the footage we have is him playing against kids. The question is does this franchise have the luxury to invest another 5 years into a project at the 5?

I think we go for the BPA or trade this years pick for picks in next years draft (if possible)

If he can't play defense he's pretty much Kevin Love/Troy Murphy with less 3 point attempts (I hope). If he does play defense he's BEAST!

How does he remind you of Ewing? He was a legit 7' with a massive wingspan and blocked nearly 4 shots a game one season. I don't see Kanter having much of a defensive impact, other than a spike in rebounds relative to what Bargs provides.
