Realistic no way Irving, Williams, and Kanter will still be on the board at 9.

#9 pick= Biyombo (I was skeptical at first, but I can't front dude is a monster maybe a quicker D.Mutumbo. Terrence Jones (DJ Quick is right the criticisms we are seeing about T. we saw about Rudy Gay), Alec Burk (We only have one decent 2 guard, and we have Jack at the 3 for now.), Kawhi Leonard (Dude had 21 rebounds in his first college game.) Kemba (He is small, but I still feel this kid is a star.)

#19 pick= Jordan Hamilton (I am skeptical of him at 9. No way you leave him on the board at 19.) Chris Singleton (Defensive stopper with a better jumper than anyone gives him credit) Tyler Honeycut (See Alec Burck), Nolan Smith (I think he is DJ's perfact back up.)

#39 pick= Kyle Singler (I think his stock is plumeting.) Bojan Bogdanovic (The next Manu Ginobli ?), Dimitri McCarney (The next Derek Fisher ?)

That would be awesome. That way, when we sign Paul, we'll have the All-NBA Flop Team on our roster.

For sure - but with #9 we still have a chance at picks #1, #2 or #3 (which is why I ranked those dudes).

Yea, I probably should have listing Irving #1 on my post, but was not really considering we would get the #1 spot. But since I listed Williams, who will go either #1 or #2, I should have listed irving also. I'll go back and EDIT it.

do we have any volunteers to run our annual honorary august us seazr big board draft threads this year?

i havent heard from august in a while so not sure if he is up for running it (i'll send him pm just in case though)

may 8th is the deadline for early entrants to withdraw their name and head back to school. i figured it would be best to wait until after the 8th to start so we can an accurate list of eligible players.

starting may 9th we conduct one poll per day with 10 options for each day. 10 options decided by using average of mock draft sites (epsn, draftexpress and nbadraft). includes 9 highest ranked players + one spot for the w_hamilton write in spot.

this is a big board not a mock draft so make your picks based on who you think the bobcats should take at each spot in the draft 1 thru 39.

It's still wayyyyy too early for one of those.

May 8th is the day when players have to determine whether they stay in the draft or go back to college. When the final field is set, then I'll give my contribution.

Players may still declare, players will drop out, the field isn't close to being set at this point.

What if we could do something like this:

Char out:
2011 9th overall pick and Gana Diop

Char in:
2011 14th overall pick, Terrence Williams and Brad Miller

We drop down 5 spots in the draft, but we also drop a year of Gana's contract (Millers last year is Unguaranteed - plus Miller runs around $2 mil less a season than Diop anyways).

We also get a guy with considerable upside to play behind Jax next season at the 3 spot in T.Will who could move into the starting spot and be a great role player next to Hendo should we move Jax later in the season.

Could we then trade #14 and #19 to move back up higher into the top 10 to have a shot at someone like Kanter?

DJA - Livingson
Hendo - Hammer
Jax - T.Will
Boris - T2 - DJW
Kanter - Kwa-Man - Miller

Even if we couldn't move back into the Kanter area of the draft, we could use the #14 and #19 to add some pieces. Maybe Hamilton at #14 and Williams at #19?

DJA - Livingston
Hendo - Hammer
Jax - T.Will - Hamilton
Boris - T2 - DJW
Jordan Williams - Kwa-Man - Miller

I'd do that trade but don't know if Houston would or not. I also think that's a tad high for Williams and would rather take a flyer on Johnson or even Nogueira.

You are right mate - it would 100% be reliant on the Rockets being really high on someone that is on the board when the 9th pick comes around that they feel wont be there 5 picks later. With the weakness of this draft though - it might be possible?

I also think that's a tad high for Williams and would rather take a flyer on Johnson or even Nogueira.

You might be right again, it might be a little high for Williams, I just really want to address our lack of post scoring - which I think he would do. I like JaJuan and if it weren't for already committing to T2 I would probably put him in front of Williams, but for roster balance I think Williams would be a good fit for us.

As for Nogueira: I'm still smarting over the last long, athletic Euro with loads of potential but who was still raw and had a questionable worth ethic/attitude we took around this end of the draft!!

I'd also do the trade. I don't know if Houston would (I guess that depends on their next coach). We may have to swap picks 19/23 as well to make that work. I'd do that deal too.

14: Burks if he's available, BPA otherwise (Hamilton isn't needed if we're getting Williams but he may be BPA)
19/23: Nolan Smith/Leslie/Selby/big man if we take Burks at 14.

Why isn't anyone talking about Chris Singleton at 19 ?

If Leonard and Hamilton are gone, he'd be my pick at 19.

Don't see the point Gana expires in '13, at the very least we will have a defensive big man. I wouldn't trade down to get rid of Gana.

Clearing salary + extra spot for a prospect.

Unless the FO wants this team in the playoffs next season (don't see it unless MJ pulls off some fantasy-esque trade), he's not very useful going forward.

Then again, if we don't resign Kwame, he could be the starter next season.

In rebuild mode capspace and roster space are everything.

There is no excuse for keeping Diop's salary on this roster. Trade him for 2015 2nd rounders if we have to.

If Kwame doesn't re-sign there are options. Sign FA Aaron Gray. Would even rather pay Hamed Haddadi (19 PER) or Kyrylo Fesenko as stop gap Cs for 1 mln.

Or use #39 to draft Kieth Benson or even Giorgi Shirmondini. I'd even take Josh Harrelson at 39 over paying Diop $6mln/.

chadfordinsider Chad Ford
Jazz play-by-play man David Locke with a very nice video breakdown of Jan Vesely's game ... http://t.co/FMJRlXA

I see this guy has been linked to Bobcats in a few mocks so I thought this was interesting.

thanks rod. thats a great breakdown, showing pluses and minuses. would love to see a similar video for every prospect.

vesely's body and athleticism and movement off the ball remind me of kirilenko. very lanky, yet explosive, seems to have good court awareness. he, of course, doesnt have kirilenko's passing ability, from what i can see, nor even as good of a jumpshot, and probably nowhere near the shotblocker kirilenko was when he was younger, but there are some similarities.

for the bobcats, maybe just a little bit too much like tyrus to really fill a need and i dont see him having superstar upside so not really worth duplicating talent just to take a flier on him.

Thanks Rod. I really appreacite it. I guess as this footage was more about a halfcourt game, it didn't do him a favor as he excels in fastbreak and running attack more. I do agree with fat, he may not be a ral fit for Bobcats as he would be a bit to similar to our energic hustling athletic guys like Tyrus.

Interesting video is the other one from the same channel about Valanciunas. Really discouraging and i wouldn't be surprise if he slips. If that wasn't jsut a bad day of him on that footage, he could be a bust anywhere in the lottery.
