Damn, I think Francisco may have just taken the closing role from Rauch.

There goes one of my fantasy closers.

If Rzep was in the rotation over Reyes we sweep this series. Oh well. Three out of four ain't bad.

He is speedy, usually makes very good contact at the plate, plays to out new aggressive base-running style. He has been great; everything we could have expected out of a waver-wire pickup, and currently a solid starting outfielder. He's won the job from Rajai, in my opinion.

He doesn't run the bases well at all. There have been numerous plays already this season where he hasn't gone 1st-3rd or 1st-home when his speed should have allowed him to easily. Defensively he hasn't been catching balls that he should, and isn't going flat out with his speed.

I don't know, maybe he's still nursing some kind of minor injury, but I'm not impressed thus far. And no, he definitely has not won the job from Davis. The best he can hope for is a platoon.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Awesome

that was such a hilarious play.. but how is that going to be scored? Shouldn't Rivera be safe on the fielding error by Beltre.. then I don't know how it gets scored after that lol.

The only possible explanation is that Bautista didn't know Patterson was on the third. I loved Patterson's reaction when he saw Bautista sprinting at him. He had no idea what to do.

pretty much it..

he probably saw Patterson at third, whom he thought is Butterfield.. then noticed that Beltre was not even close to the bag, and that no time-out was called. So he charges to third with his head down lol.

i sure hope so, i got him on a dynasty team and i got zero closers. Also, now i understand your irrational hate for him despite every evidence out there suggesting he's nothing but a lights out reliever.

Great reliever (or closer) but I still would have kept Napoli.

What the hell is with you and always labeling me as a hater/apologist? Things are rarely that simple. I just don't think another above average reliever is what the Jays should have traded Mike Napoli for.

Fransisco could end up as a type A free agent, but I think he's going to have less value to the team than Napoli could have. However he's still a good asset for the team.

omg.. i just watched the replay of Bautista's attempt at leaving the bag going to 3rd, and can't stop laughing my ass.. the funniest part is seeing Patterson's reaction.. he just stands there with both his hands out, looking at Butterfield with a "WTF is going on" type of reaction..

hahaha and what the hell was Rivera doing, half-assedly jogging three quarters of the way down to 2nd base, even though Bautista just slid into it?

Bautista outplays his contract by more than $70 million over the next four seasons (2013-2016).

My favourite part is right at the end of the play, when he's standing on second and suddenly snaps his head around to find the ball (at 52 seconds into the MLB.com video). He'd just committed an egregious base-running mistake, gotten away with it in hilarious fashion...and what clearly went through his mind at that moment was "is the ball far enough away that I can attempt to take third?"

Now, I'm going to try and do my best to defend Bautista here (insanity defense perhaps), but as he turns to look towards home he sees somebody in a Jays uniform crossing home plate (which was actually the batboy). Maybe, just maybe, he thought that was another runner scoring, looked at third quickly and didn't see Patterson (who had rounded 3rd a bit).

Or, he just made a moronic play. Either way...

i want to hear any sort of postgame audio from Bautista.. Even if he has a good laugh about it, what was his reaction? lol.

Speaking of post-game interviews, does anyone have a good place to get interviews? It seems like for the Raptors, you can always get player reactions on the site, but not the case for the Jays (even if it's just audio). I'm sure the media interview players after every game, but I can't seem to find anything
