If Oklahoma City potentially landed Dwight Howard..

Post#1 » by We da Pressed » Fri Apr 29, 2011 2:51 am

For Perkins+Harden+Westbrook+Collison+2 1sts

They would have the following players on the books

Sefalosha 3.6 million
Durant 15.0 million
Ibaka 2.25 million

Add in Dwight for around 16 million

OKC would have a front court of

Durant
Ibaka
Howard

with 22-24 million in cap space assuming the cap is around 58-60 million still. Why the hell wouldn't you do this if Orlando would accept? They could give Dwight the max through the S&T and give Chris Paul an outright max contract.

CP3
x
Durant
Ibaka
Howard

Now that is a deal I would take for Howard, but I'm sure if the Magic trade Howard, they will make the other team take Arenas or Hedo with him.

That's a little too much to give up, even for Howard. Take out Harden and I would probably do it as an OKC fan.

What you have to realize is the ridiculous amount of cap space OKC would have if they made this trade. You're looking at potentially the best defensive frontcourt in NBA history with the best scorer in the NBA with 20-24 million in cap space to sign another superstar+role players

Only way I would do that if im OKC is if CP3 would be a guarentee.

CP3/Durant/Howard would be insane.

I commend the OP. This is something the Magic would take for Howard if he wanted to leave. Much better than the wet dreams that come from Lakers fans. This is very realistic IMO. How could Howard turn down an opportunity to play with Durant? He flat out wouldn't IMO.

Will Howard and CP3 really want to live in OKC?

Dwight will pick where he wants to play.

Don't have to live there. You'll be in OKC for about half the season, or three months.

Just come to OKC, dominate the NBA, win 6 NBA Championships, then go home in the offseason 8-)

I would trade harden Perkins , 1st rounder And maynor. Dwight gives you great lost post scoring and with ibeka to run with dwigt Oh my.Or if Westbrook is being ego Brat trade him with perk . OkC is so deep at the guard spot

Howard has already said he has not problem playing in a small market. Howard would OK the trade and this gives the Thunder tons of cap space to bring in even more players. Of course the only monkey in the wrench if the fact the Thunder would have to take back Hedo or Arenas with Howard.

If we trade Westbrook + Perk + Collsion + picks for Howard we would have to probably take on Arenas' contract. So our team would be

Maynor/Arenas
Harden/Sefolosha
Durant/Cook
Ibaka/ (Free Agent)
Howard/Nazr/Aldrich

that would be our depth chart before we made other trades or brought in any free agents

IMO you would have to replace Collsion with Ibaka. Ibaka, Westbrook, Perkins and 3 1st rounders for Howard and Arenas.

Exactly. IMO a combo of Westbrook/Ibaka or Westbrook/Harden would have to come back to Orlando, plus the Thunder would have to take back Hedo or Arenas before either team even talked.

I know one thing, the Thunder is the only team I would respect Howard going to if he wanted to leave, otherwise I hope he stays with the Magic or I'm done with the NBA.

There is no way that OKC gives up Westbrook, Perkins, first round picks, AND Ibaka. Dwight Howard isn't worth that much, especially when we would have to take on atleast one god-awful contract like arenas or hedo
