1st round series MVP. vote!

Post#1 » by dockingsched » Fri Apr 29, 2011 2:47 am

Im going to go with:

1. Andrew Bynum - what a beast. just dominant on the boards, in the paint, and was consistent too.

2. Ron Artest - when everyone else was struggling, artest was a star among little twinkles.

3. Kobe Bryant - played through the injury, came up with big timely shots.

I got the same list as you Cash, but the key word is consistent and that was Drew hands down.

Would love to vote for Drew but still can't look past Kobe's key plays. The one dunk and 2nd quarter scoring pretty much turned the tide for the entire series in our favor. They were the aggressors up until that point but that quarter firmly established our superiority and it just reinforced the idea that we are still the better team and our time hasn't passed yet.

Also CP3 looked almost deflated since then. Kobe had one bad game imo. We can afford him that, when he's stellar when the time comes.

1. Kobe
2. Bynum
3. Artest

Hon'ble mention to Fisher, great leadership and aggressive plays when it mattered.

1. Bynum
2. Kobe
3. Artest

Bynum had a huge series. Kobe might have had the momentum changing play, but Bynum was rock solid from start to finish. He deserves it.

I want to vote Artest because the guy played amazing for us through out the whole series but Drew was just a beast so i'll go with Drew and then Ron Ron!

Drew beasted a couple of games, the rest he was Bynum good.
Kobe's dunk swung the series, but sucked a** the first 2 games.
Ron, was consistent, way above Artest average.

1. Ron
2. Drew
3. Kobe

Game 1-Kobe (didnt watch the game...going off stats)
Game 2-Kobe (stepped up and guarded CP3)
Game 3-Gasol
Game 4- Could go to Artest or Gasol
Game 5-Bynum
Game 6 Bynum

I'm gonna vote Ron, through Drew did equally as much..it's hard to decide but Ron needs more love so I'm voting him. Drew's presence was more vital overall, but Ron hit SO many key buckets when we were down or when hornets were ready to make a run.

Wow i looked at the series box score and pau had more blocks than drew. drew altered way more shots and caused way more people to miss though. shows how misleading the blocks stat can be

Compared to their own play, Ron and Drew def. stepped their game up while Kobe was even slightly above average. However I think Kobe was far more VALUABLE than Ron, and its not even really close. Now Drew actually has an argument considering he anchored our D and was very solid on offense, While Kobe was decent on D and had a few off games.

1. Drew
2. Kobe
3. Artest

but in case of who impressed me the most as far as my expectations
1. Drew
2. Artest
3. Fish was solid, Kobe playing through injuries

Kobe's dunk is up there with Shannon's dunk againts Denver in 09 as far as series changing plays that didn't happen in clutch moments.

Kobe's just lucky Ron's biceps aren't on this poll, I'd say ron's biceps are the true mvp ;)

Have to go with Andrew. That was his best playoff series as a Laker.

Bynum unquestionable was our MVP.

I for one can't believe how productive he was for the Lakers given how shaky that knee was coming into this New Orleans series. I don't think anyone of us could have predicted he would look this good and be this effective to kick off the playoffs.

Bynum, but Kobe is a close second for the wake-up dunk.

Bynum was big for us. This should be great for his confidence. I expect him to have another great series against the Mavs.
