He also said that no one on our team can guard Nowitzki. Needless to say, I very much disagree if we play like we played last game. If we play like we did when we were crappy, then yeah, any team can beat us. I think we all know, though, that Chuck has been quite wrong about our team before.

Agree.....just another dumb ass statement by him. We played Dallas well this season, no disrespect to them or their fan base but I don't fear them one bit.

Didn't Barkley pick against us in the Phoenix series last year? You see a lot of good that did him, this is not surprising he's been riding the Mavericks jock all season. He'll be devastated when his favorite team ends up fishing earlier than he expects.

Kobe proceeds to avg 30ppg against the Jazz.

He's wrong so often. I would be terrified if Barkley says anything good about the Lakers.

Dallas fan here.
Barkley is a jerk. Nowitzki AND Kobe are both quite hard to defend.
In my opinion the Lakers are favored to win this series. Our Mavs are the underdog.
So lets just hope for a good series.

No team in the league can guard Dirk, He's a freak of nature. But we post Gasol up a lot, so Dirk is forced to defend and not spend all his energy on offense. Lakers in 7 is my pick

I believe LA are capable of getting a win or 2 on the Road against Dallas. As long as we take care of home court we should be able to take it in 5 or 6 games.

We just played a team that played out of their head against us... They shot %80 for a quarter in one of the games. If we missed a defensive assignment, you could almost guarantee a shot was going in.

I've watched a lot of the Dal/Portland series... Neither one of those teams were like that.

They said we wouldn't be able to guard CP3 either... What he do in game 6?

Between Dallas and Portland, Dallas is the better match-up for us. It's going to be fun...

But Barkley's out of his ever-lovin', biscuit and gravy eating mind....

Dirk is the truth no doubt, but we played them twice after the All Star break & drew shattered their whole front line. I don't see anything different. If the try to put more bodies on him & Pau steps up once again its a wrap.

It's crazy to think that this is the first time ever that the Lakers have played the Mavericks in the playoffs during the Mark Cuban era.

Correct me if I'm wrong but was the last playoff series we had against Dallas in the 80s?

Charles is a douchebag but I don't see Dallas beating us 4 times. Not with Kobe and the frontline problems we pose for them. Worst case scenario they go back to Dallas with the home split, we take one on their court and finish it off in 6 on the road :-)

Like we did against Utah, Denver, Phoenix and now New Orleans.

A healthy bynum/aggressive gasol would be the most effective against dirk. with the length and steady steams of post ups getting thrown at him, in the long run it should wear him down. i say lakers handle this in six

I think the Lakers will win in 5 or 6, but it wouldn't surprise me if half hour team doesn't show up on a given night and we drop some close ones.
