Say Orlando doesn't get an extension from Dwight and they want to trade him this summer.

Raptors win first overall pick.

2011 1st, Andrea Bargnani, Amir Johnson, Leandro Barbosa for Dwight and Hedo.

I'd say that Kyrie Irving, Amir Johnson, Andrea Bargnani, Leandro Barbosa is a decent return...especially if Kyrie is as good as most of you say he is.

Free agency: J.R. Smith or Aaron Afflalo, and Anthony Parker (if we have space)

Re-sign Joey Dorsey and Reggie

Bayless/Jose
DeMar/J.R. Smith/Anthony Parker
Turkoglu/James Johnson/Linas Kleiza
Ed/Reggie
Dwight/Dorsey

Let's contend in 2011-2012

Why would you do this to yourself.

You're Dwight Howard and you can go to Brooklyn or you can go to LA but you choose.....Toronto?

Again, Dwight Howard makes this decision because.....?

You're Otis Smith, you put the word out that Dwight Howard's one year rental is on the market. Toronto calls and starts its offer with 'Andrea Bargnani'. What is the shortest possible human length of time possible to hang up a phone on someone?

something that could affect this trade would be Odens BYC status. I know its if you get a raise of 20% but the new CBA could change so that could be different. I dont know either if its 20% from your QO or 20% from your previous salary.

Anyways here it is.

To TOR: Greg Oden (S&T 9 million, 3 years) + JJ Reddick + Daniel Orton
To POR: Brandon Bass + Chris Duhon
To ORL: Andrea Bargnani + Leandro Barbosa

POR gets a backup PG and a young PF in Bass who can play alongside Aldridge if he switches to C. They get something for Oden back vs paying him that salary for a while.

ORL gets Bargnani + Barbosa replaces Reddick

TOR gets defense, 3 point shooting and a young big.

- draft Kyrie Irving :D (because we luck into the top 2)

Irving / Bayless
Derozan / Reddick
Johnson / Klezia
Davis / Amir
Oden / Orton

+ Calderon for scraps like Walton + Blake (sent to 3rd team for a big)
Canadafan wrote:Bojan Burks Stewart for Siakam.
2 expiring vets that help now. A young big to add to the Scottie timeline
I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

Listen first of all this exercise is for fun. Secondly, you don't start with Andrea Bargnani, you start with the first overall pick. You take a leap of faith that this team will win 55+ games and Howard could resign. If it doesn't look like Howard will stay flip him at the deadline.

no need for this much, i got Dwight for Bargnani, calderon and Dorsey in 2K11

but in all seriousness, if he is available, any team would be stupid not to make an offer for a legit first tier superstar that could change the fortunes of a franchise overnight.
Props to TZ for the sig:

To TOR: Lopez + Pietrus + 2012 1st Round Pick (top 8 protected)

Then

To TOR: TE
To PHX: Klezia + cash

Bayless / Calderon
Derozan / Barbosa
Johnson / Pietrus
Davis / Johnson
Kanter / Lopez

As weird as it sounds, I'm kind of intrigued by Lopez.

He hasn't really produced, especially this year, but he's intrigues me none the less.

I still think Robin Lopez is the most realistic target for us, as far as the C position goes. I can't see us signing a C via FA, so if we don't draft Kanter/Val/Biyombo, and decide to go PG, Lopez is about as good as we can do. I mean, the guy is only 23 yrs. old. He's worth the investment, all things considered. Even though he doesn't rebound very well, the PHX Suns' team rebounding was better when he's on the floor vs. Marcin Gortat. However, their defence on the whole was a bit better when Gortat was on the floor. On offence, he isn't totally useless. Good roller on the P'n'R.

Man, are Cs scarce or what these days.

trade Barbosa to the thunder for Sefolosha and their first round pick
then (only if we dont get the first or second pick) trade our pick to protland for Nickolas Batum
sign Joel Przybilla

Calderon/Bayless/( Shelvin Mack thunder first round )
DeRozen/Sefolosha
Batum/Kleiza/J.Johnson
A.Johnson/Davis
Bargnani/Przybilla/Alabi

as long as they stays relatively healthy this team could get the 8th seed in the east there first year togther

Thabo >Barbosa plus he fits better with OKC than Barbosa would.

Dont see their motivation for making that deal.

Thats a very intriguing trade, however in today's game it is a near necessity to have a perimeter threat in the starting line up otherwise movement on offense will suffer and the defense can focus primarily on shutting down the paint.

Yeah your right that would cause problems

I want a PG and Kanter this year. I just think his offense is perfect with Ed but he does scare me. What about tweaking my MIL/WAS/TOR deal?

To TOR: Jennings + Lewis
To MIL: Calderon + Bargnani + #4
To WAS: Maggette + Dooling + Sanders + #10

Raptors pair Jennings and Demar together. Both him and Lewis are shooting threats.

Bucks draft Knight, get a backup PG who can shoot in Calderon (same length as Maggette). I broke it down like Calderon = Maggette, Sanders + Dooling + #10 for Bargnani is pretty good for TOR then #4 for Jennings which is pretty good for MIL

Wizards realize no one at #4 fits the team. They use this to save 7 million instantly drop down to get a SF (Jones,Vesley,Hamilton,Leonard)

Jennings / Bayless
Derozan / Barbosa
Lewis / Johnson
Davis / Amir
Kanter / C (Klezia trade) / Alabi

Knight (#4) / Calderon / Boykins
Salmons / SG (MLE) / Lee (2nd)
Delfino / Moute
Bargnani / Irsan / Brockman
Bogut / Gooden / C (bi annual)

Wall / Dooling
Young / Crawford
Jones / Maggette
Blatche / Sanders
McGee / Seraphin

Rapsobsessed I don't support your trades anymore because of your anti-Bayless agenda. Why trade for Oden if you can sign him? Having said, there is a growing sentiment on the board that the Raps will be very quiet on the trade front this year. Unless its shedding salary like Barbosa or Calderon, there is too much uncertainty regarding the interests of different ownership groups, our future GM, and the threat of a lockout. I think our most exciting day will be when the Raps draft.

Toronto trades Andrea Bargnani and Bayless to Utah for Mehmet Okur and 6th overall pick

Raps

Jose Calderon / (Brandon Knight 6th)
DeMar DeRozen / Leandro Barbosa
James Johnson / Linas Kleiza
Ed Davis / Amir Johnson
Enes Kanter / Mehmet Okur

We then continue to play Calderon and increase his trade value while bringing Knight along slowly, trade Barbosa's expiring, package one of Davis or Amir with our first round pick next year and jump up and nab a superstar SF like Barnes

2012 Raps starting lineup - 5 years until we bring home a title

Knight
Derozen
Barnes
Davis
Kanter

lol i just dont see him as a starting PG in the future. I think his ideal role is coming off the bench and scoring much like Crawford, Terry, Manu, ect. He just comes into the game and looks to score. Maybe im wrong but i dont think if your in the playoffs that Jerryd Bayless can be your starting PG. maybe im wrong though.

i like it. Thats what i want too is a lineup like that. Draft one of Barnes/Gilchrist/Miller. I just dont know if Utah goes for it. Their front court is crowded already.. Maybe with SAC?

I'm not sure about the Knight/DeRozan back court of the future. Where does the passing come from?

The ref handing the ball to an opposing player after a made Raptors basket.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

James Johnson, playing some point forward.

Return to Toronto Raptors
