So we got DE - Aldon Smith in the first round. I really didn't know a lot about him until two days before the draft and then I fell in love with him. He has so much potential with strength, explosiveness and some good pass rushing moves. He had a injury and little experience so that is worrisome. Also he was a DE so its not certain if he can play OLB. In the end though I am not disappointed. The draft did not work out for us in that Peterson did not fall to us. I heard we tried trading down a few spots which would have still probably landed us Aldon Smith and some picks, but it just didn't work out.
I say we now look to CB and possibly QB. I think we need a CB in rounds 2-3. The other pick though should just be value based. I think in round four or later we should pick up another OLB who has more experience but not as much upside.

Re: NFL Draft
Aldon Smith ='s puke. I've absolutely hated the 1st round of the last 2 drafts. Just effin gross.
Either QB or CB must be addressed early on Day 2.
With #45, I'm all in for Kaepernick. If Kaepernick is gone, I'd be ok with Mallett. If Frisco goes CB, I would like Ras I dowling then Brandon Harris.

Re: NFL Draft
Colin Kaepernick is a 9er, YESSSSSSSSSS
Frisco traded up 10 spots to #35 to grab him. They gave #45, #108 (4th round), #141 (5th round). I like the move a helluva lot. Andy Dalton was drafted the pick before at 34, and there were several QB needy teams on deck. Frisco leapfrogged all those teams and secured a guy they were very high on at a position of high need, and they didn't have to give up much to do it.
As much as I hated the 1st round yesterday, I am loving the 2nd.

Re: NFL Draft
Overall I'm pleased with the draft class. The biggest problem is that there are a lot of risks and no one who can really step in right away. We drafted for our needs which is great and grabbed guys who have a lot of upside. We could still be looking at a rough year ahead though. I know Smith is a potential guy and so is Kaepernick.
I'm too lazy to look up names but our new RB is supposed to be really good. I guess he had some injury issues and a lot of fumbles. (Sounds like Gore to me) Should be a nice compliment to Dixon though.
Obviously our CB was picked too high (scouts had 6th round grades on him) but if you like a guy then you pick him.
Trent Dilfer was raving about our picks on ESPN. He was saying every guy fit a need. I'm glad we got some potential O line help too even if they are just decent backups.
If we can grab a corner and a vet QB in free agency (assuming it happens) I would say we have a bright future again.

Re: NFL Draft
Watched a healthy dose of Colin Kaepernick the past 4 years with Hawaii being in the WAC.
Last season, Kaepernick did not complete a pass against Hawaii until the 3rd quarter. 3rd QUARTER!!!!!
