I wasn't aware Monti had a 3 pt game. Not something you expect from a 7 footer. He is sliding tho and right now projected in the mid teens. I would jump on him at #19, absolutely.

He sounds VERY similiar to Bargnani, except maybe a better post game.
Seems to rebound and defend like Bargnani though.

True. But we could hope to land him at #19 rather than take him at the top of the draft. And that makes all the difference in the world.

He is definately intriguing, we often need consistent scoring especially from our bigs.

Montiejunas would be nice for the Cats'. Finally an offensive spark.

Reading through some of the recent Mocks, and one had us taking The Jimmer at #19. On comparisons, had him compared to Mark Price. I'm thinking " If he ends up playing like Mark Price, getting him at #19 would be the steal of the Draft!". I think comparing him to Price is giving him the very tip top benefit of the doubt in how good he becomes.

Clearing salary + extra spot for a prospect.

Unless the FO wants this team in the playoffs next season (don't see it unless MJ pulls off some fantasy-esque trade), he's not very useful going forward.

Then again, if we don't resign Kwame, he could be the starter next season.

There is always a use for a defensive seven footer. Just because we are rebuilding doesn't mean that we are going to be lottery bound long term. If we do somehow land Chris and Dwight the playoffs would be a lock. Then having a big presence like Gana backing up Dwight would become a huge benefit.

Clearing a spot for a prospect is not a problem right now anyway. Mo Pete, Sean Marks, Przbylla, and McGuire are all free agents with 50/50 or less chances to be back.

No one here is in love with Diop, but like Stun704 said no way I would trade down in a weak draft just to get rid of his contract that's up soon anyway.

i havent heard from august in a while so not sure if he is up for running it (i'll send him pm just in case though)

may 8th is the deadline for early entrants to withdraw their name and head back to school. i figured it would be best to wait until after the 8th to start so we can an accurate list of eligible players.

starting may 9th we conduct one poll per day with 10 options for each day. 10 options decided by using average of mock draft sites (epsn, draftexpress and nbadraft). includes 9 highest ranked players + one spot for the w_hamilton write in spot.

this is a big board not a mock draft so make your picks based on who you think the bobcats should take at each spot in the draft 1 thru 39.

bump

still looking for a volunteer...

Come on you draft nuts! Doesn't someone want to head up our yearly big board? It will be even better this year with us having two 1st round picks and a 2nd.

If there is no thread 8th ( or is it 9th?) I'll make one. Well considering the very top picks will stay in, we may actually kcik off a day or two earlier, doesn't matter.

A player to watch for in the draft who may rise up to our #19 pick is Lucas Nagueira of Brazil. 6-11 and 218 PF/C. Only 19 yr old. But I am starting to see him show up in mocks in the late 1st round and he has been climbing steadily. He wont be around for our 2nd round pick. He may be a "project", but I really wont know much about him until Draft Camp on ESPNU so I can watch him in some 5-5 action. If we end up with a SF or G at #9, it is entirely possible MJ goes for the Big at #19, even if he is a "project". ESPN has him ranked at #26 right now, and I see him late 1st round in some mocks. But one mock had him to Charlotte at #19. Just someone to keep an eye on.

Bebe reminds me wayyyyyyyy too much of Lexi - a long, lanky Euro who is raw with loads of upside but has a questionable work ethic.

The only difference is that Lexi was offensive and Bebe is defensive.

I really don't want to go down that path again!

That is the same vibe I get with Bismack. But I dont think Lexy was ever projected into the Top 10. Still, I am not sure I would take him at #9 unless he was clearly the BPA at the moment. It would be a gamble and I prefer to let someone else take the risk. Assuming we dont get Irving or Williams, I'd want Kanter before anyone else.

I know what you mean ohara - but at least Bismack sounds like a killer and a guy who really wants to go after it. He's also some what proven.

Agreed with the Kanter call too. I'm leaning in that direction as well.

If there is Ajinça in this draft it's him.
