Roster Forecast - Post Draft

Post#1 » by eagle13 » Sat Apr 30, 2011 10:58 pm

We pretty much know TT ain’t gonna sign many, if any FAs, so except for a possible undrafted rookie we have our guys. My 53 man roster forecast-
One draftee on PS. All others on 53 man roster.

OFFENSE-25
OL(9)- Clifton Wells Sittton Bulaga Sherrod Lang Newhouse McDonald Schlauderaff
TE(4)- Finley Quarless Crabtree DWilliams
WR(5)- Jennings Driver Nelson Cobb Swain
FB(2)- Johnson Kuhn
RB(3)- Grant Starks AGreen
QB(2)- Rodgers / Flynn

DEFENSE-25
DL(6)- Raji Pickett Neal HGreen Wilson Lawrence
ILB(4)- Hawk Bishop Chillar DJSmith
OLB(5)- Matthews Zombo Walden Jones Elmore
CB(7)- Williams Woodson Shields House Lee Gordy Bush
S(3)- Collins Burnett Peprah

ST-3
K- Crosby
P- Masthay
LS- Goode
PR- Cobb
KR- Cobb & PLee

PRACTICE SQUAD (8)
Harrell-QB, Campbell-T, CWest-WR, Levine-S, RTaylor-TE/FB +3

SIGNIFICANT DEPARTURES
D- Jenkins, Barnett, Bigby, Underwood, ASmith, DMartin, Poppinga, Francois, JWynn, JHarrell
O- JJones, Tauscher, Colledge, Spitz, BJackson, KHall, DLee, Nance, Dietrich-Smith

NOTES

DBs(10)- I see Woodson as #4 S if injuries hit there. He’s destined to move there anyway (next year?). So invest in CBs. Plus Bush has worked at S before tho he’s ideally just ST anyway.

DL – IF by miracle Jenkins resigns – then n Lawrence on PS.

I think Green will be the 2nd kick returner. Otherwise it looks pretty good.

I don't know, but that wasn't an opinion.

He needs to be on the 53 because if he's not on the 53 he can't get called up due to injury.

I hope that Jones comes in at a decent price, because shifting Cobb down 1 spot and dropping Swain would be a lot nicer looking.

Why do we need to have Harrell ready due to injury? I don't see any likely scenario where Rodgers and Flynn both get injured so early in the game that we need Harrell to come in and win a game for us and making a difference.

First of all if they both get injured and its early we are likely to lose anyways, if its late in the game we aren't going to make a comeback and if we are winning then we can just continue to pound the ball.

I don't think Harrell needs to take up a roster spot at all.

I just think some combination of Jordy Nelson or Cobb as the third QB on gameday is a better use of the roster slot than Harrell personally.

LOL @ keeping Harrell in case of injury.

That's like keeping Madoff on speed dial in case of fraud.

I'd probably do this but swap Guy and Crabtree

:D

No way i'd keep Harrell even if he stayed healthy in camp. He'd just get hurt during the season and leave us in a bind.

It would be a shame if we let JJ walk for reasonable money. I think he will have a better year than DD and Nelson next year.

With JJ, I think a lot of it is his role with the team. I think he probably views himself as a 1b, 2a type of receiver and likely won't get as many targets with GB as he'd like. I can't fault him too much for it, but I'd prefer a Jennings, Jones, Jordy, Cobb, Swain rotation and put Donald out to graze the fields. I'm feeling like Driver will quickly develop into what Derek Jeter and Jorge Posada are for the Yankees, big names with big reputations that get PT based on legacy. DD can still play, but I think he will quickly be eclipsed by Jones/Jordy, and I'd rather have Cobb's skillset for a 4th wr than DDs.
You gotta make it sexy! Hips and nips, otherwise I'm not eating.

Is G/C Nick Cole a Packer?

I think there was a report that said he was but I'm not seeing anything.

Return to Green Bay Packers
