Possible Way to Trade Outlaw

Maybe I'm so happy from all of the series wins and their repercussions that my trade proposal could be a but delusional, but I've pondered this for a while.

1) If there's ever a conversation in which we're roasting Outlaw and a Blazers fan responds, they always tell us that Outlaw is actually good, he'll be just fine and play like he used to play in Portland. When they say this I usually think, well how do you know if it was just the system that he succeeded in.

2) Outlaw felt comfortable as a backup in Portland and he obviously knows the system well. Nicholas Batum is their up and coming budding SF who will be a RFA next year, however he plays behind G.Wallace, who has year left on his contract at $10,650,000 and a player option for the following year at $11,437,500. What if Wallace picks up his option even though Portland wants Batum to assume the starting SF position this upcoming season or the next?

3) What if we allow Trout to return back to where he played well while alleviating Portland from the future Wallace or Batum problem that they will have soon. They get their backup SF/PF back and put their young star in a position to succeed.

4) Trading them Farmar gives them back a PG that they so desperately need. If Miller doesn't re-sign at least Farmar could be a temporary starter/full-time backup.

Outlaw, Farmar, 1st round pick for Gerald Wallace? What ya'll think?

That's why I prefaced it with "maybe I'm a bit delusional because of how happy I am with the playoffs" lol. If there's any team in the entire league that would have the highest view of Outlaw and believe that they could turn him back into his former self, it would be the Blazers because he was with them last year, knows the system, and excelled in his time with them.

This proposal:
1) It gets them a player that played well in his time there.
2) A backup PG that could play starter's minutes while they try to get a starter.
3) A first round draft pick (and Rich Cho loves collecting draft picks).
4) Allows them to play Batum as a starting SF without having to worry about a more veteran player getting pissed off at his reduction of minutes.

If this happened, I would be floored because Wallace has a much better deal than Iggy and he's a good defender. Since Outlaw + Farmar basically equals Wallace's deal, we're not adding salary to our team and would still have enough cap for a max contract...cough...cough...Howard...cough.

Brooklyn Decker is so ridiculously hot. I have no idea how one person can be that hot.

And the trade? Yeah, not happening. If they want Batum to start, they'll start him, with Wallace at the 4 (Aldridge at the 5) or the super-sub off of the bench.

idk how fail this thread is... portland ACTUALLY might bite on a similar deal. the premise seems ok and maybe it could be a 3-way deal where portland gets jameer nelson and jrich and the magic get brandon roy and brook and nets get gerald wallace and dwight with multiple picks being thrown around and other fillers... i think its possible.

However, with the lineup of dwill, morrow, wallace, hump, howard we have barely any perimeter shooting and horrible freethrow % down the stretch. if we bring in wallace i think we need to bring in a player with a little more perimeter skills like thad young too

As each day passed by, I have a greater realization of how ridiculous this idea was and how tired I must've been that night.

G.Wallace was the only dude tearing it up in Game 6 for the Blazers. If they really want Batum to start and they feel they might need to trade him, they will do so but for much more than Outlaw lol. G-Wallace is a fringe allstar, Outlaw is a bonafide scrub.

If they are moving Outlaw, whatever deal would be excellent. But now Im paying attention to the Grizzlies they have moved on to OKC and with every playoff win and the way they are winning by playing defense. I wonder if they can afford to keep all their top players. What will happen to Gay???

Yeah, the question of whether a team can keep all of its players should be posed to the Sixers. They are at $54 million and they have to resign Thad Young, Spencer Hawes and make decisions on Jason Kapono and Darius Songaila. Out of all NBA teams, I expect them to be looking to unload some weight especially considering their youth movement and growth might be stunted by Iggy and Brand and their cap eating contracts.

The new CBA will force teams to make hard decisions. With the Grizzs or Sixers it is possible that contracts will be unloaded.

The Grizzlies are fine. They have Gay, Conley, Allen, and Z-Bo locked up. They have Marc Gasol's bird rights and unless their owner is that foolish, they should be going over that cap to keep those aforementioned players together.

No matter what happens in the playoffs, people will always think "The Grizzlies went this far without Gay, just imagine if he was there..." We don't know what would've happened if Gay was still playing. They might've finished the regular season better and got the 6 or 7th seed and made an even bigger splash. But they'll be fine because they have their core locked up. They don't have to trade anyone.
