^ What? No!!!!!!!!!!!! I pass on Boozer all day long. I'd trade Walton for him but that's about it, the guy plays no defense, has a superstar-complex and is aging quickly. The Heat and Bulls #1 picks are basically early 2nd rounders and not worth much. There's NO WAY I'm trading Odom and Artest for that package!

Jetset ... I maintain that Mitch would easily trade the 2nd rounders he has for a first if there is someone he wants there. Imagine a scenario where Kemba or Jimmer are inured in the pre-draft workouts and free fall toward the end of the first ... I could see Mitch packaging all (4) 2nd rounders for them.

As for draftexpress, what I like is the main page where they are not doing a "mock draft" just listing players in order of talent ... you might be right about them getting paid for promotion, that wouldn't shock me.

You Assume I thought McCamey was the guy who would have a better career than Marshall ... hmmm

Liggins ... like I said, it wouldn't shock me if he was a top 25 pick ... I'd take him over Ebanks any day as well.

That Bulls trade was a joke, chill.

Ok, now you're talking about two of the nations leading scorers, of course he would probably take chance on that. But they're not going to be around in the late first, which is about as high as our picks would get us and no one like them is going to be around. I somewhat see what you're saying, but it's daft to even think about. Unless Nolan is available around the 28-30 range we're not moving up into the first round.

lol Liggins is not a top 25 pick. He's a good player indeed, but any team that selects him in that range is taking an extreme reach. He's more of a mid 2nd round talent, with a chance at being selected around our first 2nd rounder. And I hope it's us doing the selecting.

Nolan Smith is a possibility ... and .. I hope you're right on the Liggins thing.

I'm standing by my opinion that Blake has failed to live up to the standards that I believe mgmt had when they signed him.

Are you really trying to tell me about college basketball? I know he's returning, which is why I said trade them for a 2012 pick. Look I live in North Carolina and saw mostly every single UNC/Duke game that was televised and UNC was complete and utter garbage before Kendall Marshall became the starting PG. The kid is a playmaker through and through, he's already a "floor general" as some people like to call good PG's. If you had seen him play during the season, you'd most likely compare him to Rondo. Marshall isn't fast like him and doesn't have a crazy long wingspan like Rondo, but in terms of running an offense and getting the ball to his man using craftiness and an arsenal of passes Kendall is exactly the same. But I think Marshall already has a more developed offensive game than Rondo in seeing that he can knock down jumpers consistently and make FT's. Some have compared him to a young Jason Kidd minus the rebounding and athletic ability that Kidd had, but I think thats too high of praises right now so I'll stick with the Rondo comparison for right now. For you to say that about Marshall leads me to believe that you haven't watched a single UNC basketball game all last season, and it puzzles me as to why you would even comment about something you haven't even watched. Unless you're just talking to make yourself seem all-knowing.

And really a late 2nd round pick? Just stop man basketball isn't your thing, maybe you should try some other boards like pro wrestling. I actually think you may have a profession in script writing for the WWE, judging from some of the scenarios you've made.

what do you think of larry drew jr.? i went to high school with him, and thought he was much, much, better than farmar. from what i can tell, he hasnt lived up to any of the expectations/potential he had coming out of high school.

He has great athleticism but he's just not much of a basketball player at the collegiate level. Not only that but everyone that roots for the Tar Heels now hate him because he switched universities to get a starting gig lol.

at his point i would take a huge expiring and high first round pick for gasol, mostly because it would be very attractive to orlando. bynum+expriring+first rounder for dwight+arenas.

hell maybe Cleveland could give us their TPE and 1st rounder, or JJ hickson for gasol. they could pretend like they got a legit 1st option, and the lakers could create a more attractive package for dwight.

i see no reason to keep gasol past this year, no matter how it ends. the last few weeks he just looks like a shell of himself, and while i dont think he is done, i think this is how he will decline. unlike kobe who has aged gracefully, pau will probably take a nose dive.

thats just my opinion tho.

Dwight >>> gasol+bynum. not sure why that's funny, especially when you consider how long gasol is signed for and how much money we owe him. Arenas has mostly negative value because of his contract, but I honestly think next to Kobe, he could become a somewhat productive player.

^ I agree with Doormat 100% ... I'd rather have a Dwight/Odom combo than a Pau/Bynum/Odom trifecta. Bynum is insanely injury prone and Pau is decling ... Dwight hasn't even reached his prime yet!

I don't want Arenas though ... perhaps that what LApwnd found so funny

Yes nobody want arenas, but if you're doing this trade, Orlando obviously is going to dump a contract. At least arenas, unlike walton, can give us production. Trust me, on that huge contract, lakers management, and everybody else is gonna be on his ass, and on the coaching staff to utilize him.

I still think he's got something, it's just a matter of using him properly and motivation, something I think the lakers can do.

Pretty soon pau is gonna have neutral/negative value with that huge contract. Best we trade him while he has anything left.

And have 3/4 small forwards to give minutes to? It would be a **** if we don't find a way to move on artest, which really should be priority #2 after Dwight.

I agree turkeyglu is a better player, but the magic are going to try to dump the more horrific contract in arenas, which is why I'm assuming he would be coming. If the difference between a deal is arenas or nothing, I think we pull the trigger. The point is getting Dwight to LA, you do whatever is necessary.

Seeing as Howard is a ways off, moving Artest should be priority #1. But I'll agree with the rest of what you said whatever it takes to get D12, although our payroll will be even more than the Kobe/Bynum/Gasol era. Which was already considered absurd. I just don't want Arenas on this team but we may not have a choice.

I think this team should stay mostly the same. What we need to do is improve our bench especially at SG. Kobe is getting older and we need someone off the bench who can score in bunches. I'd target Jason Richardson,Caron Butler, or JR Smith with the MLE.

^And ignore the fact that gasol has shown signs of not aging well, and that artest (NO series aside) STILL hasn't grasped the triangle, and with that suspension, might be getting a little out there... Also not sure how happy players would be, or moreso how happy kobe would be with his teammates if we go out in the 2nd round.

This team needs more than just minor upgrades to stay at a championship level. Hell just the pure wear and tear of playing all these games the last 2-3 years is going to age them faster than others.

Gasol will be fine. I think he is just tired having played 3 straight finals and with Spain in the Olympics. Remember that we wouldn't have won these last two championships without him. The bigger issue for this team is PG. Fisher is getting older and Blake doesn't look to shoot. I think we should find a way to get a younger quicker PG. I'd love to see us trade for Devin Harris, Raymond Felton, OJ Mayo or Randy Foye. If we can upgrade at PG and get some shooters for the bench we will be fine.
