jeter looks hopeless at the plate

And A-rod is 3 for 23 in his last 7 games hitting .130...but it's as irrelevant as Jeter because the Yanks are winning series. If I am not mistake the only series the Yanks haven't taken is the one in Boston. NOT BAD for the first month done in the league.

I don't have any problems with you using Jeter as your whipping boy but spread the blame.

The most reliable bat for the world champion SF Giants was Aubrey Huff and Renteria (someone they didn't want back at first). Neither of those guys hit over .300...vets don't have to be the main cog in order to win.

A-rod, despite his recent slump, is still hitting .290 and slugging .600, not to mention his 125 RBIs last season. I'm picking on Jeter because he is the only one that is hitting .250 for a year. if he is hitting .250 this year then what is going to happen next year and the year after that.

Again, you're missing the point. Regular season stats are undermined by the fact you win as a team. Only stat that matters in the regular season is W-L. Now, why did I bring up Huff? Cause A-Rod's playoff avg didn't carry over. Likewise with the line up of the Giants but it went for the better.

If this were a fantasy league, I would put stock in your argument. It's not. It's a team game. You get nowhere without the team as opposed to NBA or even the NFL where one player can carry a team.

Little things such as milking the count, advancing the runner, productive outs...these things are not stats but they carry over into good things and seeing the ball well.

Whether you win 10-5 or 1-0....it's One game out of 162. This is a marathon not a sprint.

I think Jeter is becoming more of a legend then an actual productive baseball player. The problem is Jeter is not even doing the little things. you keep on mention about milking the count, do you know that Jeter is only ahead of Cano and Posada in pitchers per plate appearance? Jeter is only getting a mere 3.6 pitches per plate appearance. How many base runners did Jeter advance? when he is 2nd in the league in hitting ground balls? And productive outs? come on, Jeter was 5th in the league in double plays.
