Hey guys congrats on the big win this weekend that is awesome. I just had a quick question for you about Rudy Gay. Do any of you think he may be shopped this summer? Your team has played so well since he got hurt with Battier and Young playing the 3 and with the forthcoming extensions to Gasol and ZBo do you think he will be expendable. I'm not trying to troll I was just curious what your thoughts were because you will have almost all of your cap tied up into 4 players (Conley, Gay, Randolf, and Gay) and many around the league thought Gay was overpaid this summer. Best of luck in the rest of the playoffs hope you can knock off the Spurs.

No, not a chance Rudy is shopped.

The Pacers' beat writer, Mike Wells, has stated that Indy plans on pursuing Mayo again in the offseason. Link.

Hey guy magic fan here just wanna say congrats and get you guys input on something. Would you guys be willing to move Rudy for short term cap friendly deals? Orlando will be in shopping everyone not named Arenas or Howard so i was just wondering how you guys feel about a Nelson J.Rich resigned at 3yr 30mil with 2 team opitions and Anderson or JJ Redick and picks or Gay? In this trade you guys get pretty much solid vets with Anderson as a young piece plus picks and J.Rich as a expiring

So is it safe to say O.J. Mayo is as good as gone in the offseason to the first team offering pure cap and a mid to late draft pick, perhaps even a high second rounder in the name of saving money?

If only late first/early second are offered during draft, the Grizz may roll the dice and wait to see what the new CBA looks like. Heck, who knows. I'm guessing that they'll get better than a late first though, especially with this weaksauce draft class. Even with his apparent limitations, he's more the devil you know as opposed to what's available in terms of picks.

imo the only way the grizzlies should consider a late 1st rounder and tpe for mayo is if it's in next year's draft.

this year's just too weak.

Who on the Magic roster would you guys take for Mayo?

Bass? Anderson? Anybody?

I'd love to see a deal of Anderson and the rights to Vasquez for Mayo.

What about Jordan Farmar and the 27th for Mayo?

A) From your viewpoint as a fan.

and

B) In your honestly unbiased opinion speaking for your front office.

What about for cap space?

I know most fans shoot it down with the quickness, but will your front office feel otherwise.

Farmar + 27 for Mayo is crap. Might as well keep Mayo. Farmar isn't that much (if any) of a step up over Vasquez. And 27 in this draft is just giving a guaranteed deal to what will likely be a 2nd round talent player. IMO that is both a Fan and FO take on that offer.

As a fan I'd like to see OJ retained, obviously. However, if it comes down to locking up Marc OR keeping OJ, see you OJ! And if it is and either or scenario, then pure space + pick(s) would be the only real option there.

So A) Fan Option - resign Marc and Shane & keep OJ!

B) FO Objective - Resign Marc, make a run at Shane and move OJ for flexibility and pick(s).

Taj Gibson + bunch of unguaranteed contracts (Bogans, Pargo or Lucas, take your pick) + #28, #30, #44 for Mayo + #49. Yay or nay?

Better than Farmar, that's for sure. Still kinda "meh", IMO.

Fair enough. More or less what I was thinking as well.

Although on Farmar, I don't think he's a very good player, but he's an improvement over Vasquez IMO, that said, there isn't a real need for Farmar on the Grizzlies, so again agree with your logic and points.

Do you guys want to upgrade your backup PG spot? If yes, I can come up of:

Taj + CJ Watson + #28, #30 for Mayo + Ish Smith + #49

That does not help a lot on saving money though.

That's quite the haul for Mayo IMO.

Yes the plethora of mediocre picks is kind of unneeded and cumbersome, but there is always the chance to combine them and even if they wind up young guys that begin their career's riding the pine, they'll still be trade assets as long as they are specific guys other teams are interested in on very cheap contracts.

Gibson and cap space is probably about fair value for Mayo.

Assuming your FO trades Mayo for sure, I mean what are a few specific deals you're envisioning?

Indeed I think 90% of my fellow Bulls fans would not do the deal I suggested, so I just posted it for value-testing purpose. Anyway I would also be happy to know what the Grizz would want specifically.

Jonny Flynn for OJ Mayo.
