Why nobody mentioning Josh's amazing defense in game 1?

Why is nobody mentioning Josh's GREAT GAME AND amazing defensive performance in game 1?

4 big block, 1 turnover, and about a dozen hesitations the Bulls players gave Josh when they saw him lurking in the paint.

Josh had the second best performance in the game, especially if you think that defense wins championships, while Joe gave the best performance, of course. Josh played perfect post defense, he got blocks and altered and pressured every shot in the paint, with out committing bad fouls. Josh and Horford just work really well together in playing playoff basketball. I think if you put Marc Gasol in for Josh Smith last night, and Marc got you 15/10/.500FG, i don't think he would have been as affective as what Josh did with his 4 blocks and countless altered shots, especially when you have athletes who attack the paint like Rose and Deng.

His 3-11 for 8 points was awful. I wanted to change the channel everytime he shot the ball.

But you're right, his D was on point.

^ yeah, that is the thing about good players, even if they are having an off night, they still find ways to contribute, and that is exactly what Josh did, he played the best defense of anybody on the Hawks and Bulls, and was still able to contribute to the team for a positive outcome for the Hawks.

again the 4 blocks and presence in the paint are way more important than if the Hawks had a 7footer who gave you 15/10/.500FG and just average defense.

Smoove is not a Center; he does not defend the lane. He blocks shots but cannot do the rest of the things a real Center has to do. That's because he can be posted up and pushed around by bigger men. Yeah, he can stand in there against guards -- and he's awesome doing that. But he is not a 5 and we'd ruin his career by making him take the beating he'd get if he tried to man the post. He needs to play forward (either one) so he can do what he does best on defense: weakside shotblocking.
My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

I think 2 of his blocks came against Noah's dunk attempts. The Boozer dunk was a clear foul by Boozer that would have been blocked. I am pretty sure everybody realizes Josh isn't a 5 though. Do we need someone for the big, bulky guys? Yeah, we do. Should it come at the cost of Josh Smith? I don't think so. Are we going to find a Ewing, Zo, Mutombo, Hakeem? No. Sign Pryzbilla or Kwame Brown? Yeah.

A trade for Darko wouldn't be a bad move IMO. I wouldn't mind us getting Aaron Gray and Kosta Koufos in a trade. Koufos and either 1 of Gray or Darko would become some solid performers with minutes especially Koufos. Nobody really thought Marc Gasol would turn out like he did. Deandre Jordan is looking to cash a big check also. Hawks should really take some of these young guys thats not getting minutes and play them.
