Cheers! I was out of the country for a couple weeks. Here's how out of the loop I've been: I just found out yesterday that Barnes had officially announced he was returning to UNC.

Any other big draft/Raps news happen recently?

Donatas Motiejunas has declared for the draft.

It is also likely that there will be a two year requirement for NCAA players so the 2012 might not be so stacked anymore.

Rhett,

Welcome back! Bargs is still here, same as Jose, BC still doesn't have a contract and our team still sucks. I think that covers it.

Kanter is a skilled big man with legit C size and those don't come around very often, that's probably why. Whether that translates is the question.

Kemba is a low efficiency / high volume undersized PG, that's what's pushing him down.

Knight has good size but he hasn't really shown much PG skills.

Remember, when it comes to prospects and fan analysis everything is really in the eye of the beholder. Some look at Kemba and think the next A.I. while others see Juan Dixon. Same with Kanter and every other prospect.

Kemba's efficiency is actually pretty good. 54 TS% and 30 PER with the amount of defensive focus on him is not bad

yeah, maybe low efficiency isn't correct, more like average efficiency. But that could be negatively impacted once he faces better competition in the pros. Again, we'll have to see just like every other prospect.

Oh, another thing probably pushing Kemba down is that he's a junior.

one thing pushing him up is stuff like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wtt6FMpAg2Y&feature=fvsr

this should be the easiest decision colangelo ever made

also I got a pop-up ad for a karate camp when I watched that clip. Karate camp. Every other vid I watch gets an ad for dandriff shampoo or something. Kemba get an ad for karate. Draft this guy please

Clearly he is not a 4 he is a 3 and he would give some size to us in that position. If we could trade bargs for a legit center, have amir or ed at the 4 with this either johnson or this guy at the 3 and derozan at the 2...it would look nice. Of course if irving and williams are off the board. He would be by third choice.

I dont see it at all, james johnson is more athletic than this guy

I would have to agree, after teams work him out and see how much potential he has and how weak this draft is than ya he deffinitley could be 3rd...i wouldnt mind it at all tbh.

Kemba may be undersized and older than the rest of these kids, but I'm finding myself more and more in favor of drafting him. At least we know he can create, which is at least one NBA ready skill, while a lot of these guys may not be able to contribute much at all. Of course we already have Bayless who is also a scoring guard, so maybe we should just take Kemba and trade him, or wait unti the trade deadline next year and see who's worth what.

Random point, but WTF at Tobias Harris getting ranked 16th on Chad's big board. I wouldn't take Harris with the 40th pick in this draft. Undersized 4 who'll be as slow and unathletic as anyone at the position and his outside game is OK but not near lockdown enough to make up for how abused he'd get in the NBA. Harris is a Euroleague big man

Kemba Walker is a backup pg in the NBA. I'm not sure the logic behind drafting a bench player with a top-5 pick, but maybe someone can let me in on the secret.

I agree Dr. Mufasa. Yes this draft isn't strong. ( 2-3 All stars) But I see a handful 7-9 starters and some role players. I'm not sure what people expect out of the draft anymore. It's not often that superstars are drafted.

If we can draft a solid starter at either position we'll be fine. Always draft best player available.

May it be PG/C.

I almost hope we drop to 4th or 5th so we can take Biyombo (if he's as good a prospect as I think he might be) without having to pass on Kanter, who's bound to have greater production out of the gate.

If we do take Kanter it will be nice knowing we have our center position locked up for years (hopefully).
