Is there a worse state in professional sports right now?

Timberwolves - Where do I start?
Twins - TERRIBLE embarrassing start
Vikings - According to most experts, the reach of the 1st round (though I like him)
Wild - An ATROCIOUS end to their season

Good thing we have Maya!

But sadly, the WNBA barely counts as a professional sports league.

kinda worried about the talk about his arm, we need to have a deep threat of some sort. We already went through that phase of nothing over 10 yards w/ Childress, its annoying

Like I said, I like him. I think the arm concerns are overblown. I think hes a perfect fit for Musgrave's system.

LOVE the Rudolph pick!

I got home last night from visiting my mom to find my refrigerator had died over the weekend. $300 worth of food in the garbage. :banghead:

Speaking of expensive food, when I went to buy some groceries to make a dinner plus dessert and some breakfast food for my lady, I paid more than 40 bucks. 40 freaking bucks for food that lasted 2 days. Isn't that simply wrong? How the hell is one supposed to eat healthy stuff if you have to spend so much money for that? It's certainly not a surprise society's getting fatter and fatter :nonono:

So my lady just told me she semi-witnessed a shooting today. She was standing about 100 yards away at a traffic light when some guys shot a man. Damn.

food is not expensive you just have to know how to work the system. when you go to the store or costco make sure you eat lots of free samples. try to eat enough so you take care of one meal. in warmer weather, crash church/community pot lucks on the weekend. another idea is to dress in your worst clothes and head on down to your local soup kitchen. also, when you get fast food don't forget to save all those extra ketchup packets. last idea, stand on a street corner near a fast food joint with a "need work" sign, that will land you money for a couple of free meals. of course none of these ideas are good for your self esteem but if your low on cash your self esteem is probably already shot anyway, so why not?

How old was the fridge? You can maybe help justify it a little by getting a new Energy efficient model. Technically I should be recouping about $150 - $200 in energy savings this year since I bought a new one. I wish I would have done it years ago.

Repairman just left. It started out looking like we needed to replace the fridge but then he found a bad switch. $15 part >>>>>>>>>$1000 appliance. I think he said it is a 1999 model fridge so hopefully we can get a few more years out of it before making the plunge.

So what's the story with your chimney?

Nothing yet. I have a bunch of guys coming out in the "next few days." I can't even get them to commit to a time to come out and look at it. lol.

I had one guy from Donnelly Stucco tell me that it will be $2200 just to take off the old stucco, and only then he will give me an estimate. Who would agree to that? He couldn't even give me a ball park. When I told him another guy gave me an estimate of $4500, his eyes got wide, he stammered a bit and less than 90 seconds later, he was out the door.

Contractors are always trying to hustle for some reason. Seems they'd rather over-estimate and hope to hit the jackpot w/ a sucker rather than do more jobs at a fair price.

Yep. Kind of surprising considering the current market; you'd think they would wise up and realize that there is plenty of competition and people are getting tighter with their money (even when they don't know anything about the work) and won't just accept the first guy who bids.

Seriously Basti, how can you stand to mod the general board? No hyperbole, I think that half the posters in there have brain damage.

After reading some of the comments on the Trades/Transactions board, I'm just shaking my head. Especially after that Kings fan refusing every offer for Reke unless it's for LBJ or D12.

I only read the threads that I'm interested in or whenever someone reported a post. In case neither happens, I tend to avoid threads like "LBJ vs. Rose" or something like that because that usually brings out the worst posters out of the wood. Another thing is that I've learned not taking things personally. If someone has an opinion, even the most ridiculous one, I brush it off as his/her opinion.

One thing that I've learned from being a mod there, is, that I'm more of a glue guy than being a go-to-guy when it comes to discussing topics. I usually read a thread but won't comment on the topic as I don't like adding my thoughts without knowing exactly what I talk about. Sometimes I also don't really give a crap personally but since it's my "job" and for the well being of the majority here I try my best to judge objectively. Perhaps not giving a crap helps in that department :D

From what I've been told, the GB used to be way worse before I took that job, too.

tl;dr: I have a short penis and try to compensate for it by being a mod there.
