It was ruled a Flagrant Foul 2. Sorry if already posted, I didn't see it and thought I would post this-

So should Tyson Chandler, since he is seen in the background leaving the Dallas bench, and then Jason Kidd grabs him...

No what Ron Artest did deserved a suspension. Guy is an idiot for that.

The funny thing is that he actually held Barea up after he hit him. I think it was just an instant reaction, that he regretted right after. Still incredibly stupid nonetheless.

Don't mean to troll your thread or anything but...i think y'all could use a little extra Lamar Odom anyways. This could be a blessing for you. It's not like Artest was guarding a great SF anyways...he wasn't doing anything on Dirk. I think some extra Lamar would be good for you guys.

Few thoughts

- Not only was it dirty but there were 20 something seconds left in a blowout
- Agreed with above poster. This will be a blessing for the Lakers because now more minutes for Odom and Barnes who can actually make outside shots to spread the Dallas defense

I don't think the bench depletion can ever be a good thing, especially when compared with Dallas bench.

But yeah, a bit of addition by subtraction might be possible.

I feel like I remember Walton doing a decent job on Dirk a few years ago. Something about white guys being better at guarding white guys, I believe.

Someone should tell that to Gasol.

Walton shouldn't get any playing time just because Artest was suspended. Phil will just have to make some adjustments (I know, lol) to the rotations so that Odom spends some time at the 3 (Barnes should be capable of 35+). I don't know how he's going to work it out, but playing Walton shouldn't even be on the table.

Barnes will start in his place. Maybe this will give him a confidence boost because he hasn't been playing that well lately.

One good thing is that we might play Kobe more at SF and that should increase his minutes. We aren;t winning anything without him playing 40+ mins the rest of the way.

May be run Bynum/Gasol or LO/Kobe/Fish/Blake for sometime. That's the best line up to close out on shooters and still have adequate spacing.

Sasha would have been worth his weight in gold against Barea for this series.

I don't think it was overly malicious. I thought Artest was trying to grab Barrea's upper chest but he's so damn short that he ended up making perfect contact with his face. If I remember correctly, Artest wasn't even paying attention when he made the foul. Oh well.
