I seriously doubt Williams will be a 1st round pick in 2011 - considering he finished the season very poorly - unless a lot of underclassmen projected to go - don't go. He's shown no ability to even hit 12 footers - much less foul shots, so he'd have to strictly be a back to the basket player - at maybe 6'9 with very little jumping ability. And he still needs a lot of work on conditioning - he got gassed way too easily towards the end of the season. And he's not going to be a defender. He needs to go to school, continue to get in better shape, show he can hit mid-range jumpers, and not be an embarrassment at the foul line. Jordan, listen to your parents, and don't sign with an agent.

He's apparently being really stubborn right now. Looking like he already mailed it in with his classes and he can't turn back now...what a shame.

He's probably going to be a 2nd rounder this year. He's a "big" with limited height, and with other glaring deficiencies.

If Aaron Gray, and Kyrylo Fesenko are still on NBA rosters, Williams has got to be feeling pretty good about his chances considering this draft. Obviously he'd rather make 6-figures warming a bench then improving his game and stock for next year. He hasn't officially declared though.

It doesn't make any sense - unless he really hates taking classes. If he just works on his game and conditioning, he can become a 1st rounder, get set for life on a rookie contract, and - in the meantime - be the big man on campus. Now, he's probably getting treated like the assclown on campus - or maybe hiding away at home. Some folks don't think he'd even get drafted - and his game is not made for Europe.

I read on another message board that he hadn't been in class in 10 weeks (so I'm assuming he's missed the entire spring semester).

That's actually very good to hear. Ask him if the rumors are true about him not going to classes.

If that's true he's going to be a terrible NBA player and I'd really have a problem with the program allowing that.

Didn't Gilchrist do the same thing? Yeah, how did that work out?

To your other point, I'm not sure how much say MD has in a guy going to Spring classes when he's set on entering the draft. It doesn't affect his eligiblity in the current season, and next season doesn't matter if he's already gone to the NBA. And if he pulls out of the draft at the last minute, they can probably do some kind of summer class to get him eligible again.

I just watched Montrose Christian play Oak Hill on ESPN 2 and I figured I'd post my thoughts.

Justin Anderson is a freakish athlete. And I mean FREAKISH.

If I had to make a comparison from an athletic standpoint, I would compare him to Vince Carter.

Or Steve Francis with about 30 extra pounds.

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

It sounds like Maryland is down to one last desperation shot to rescue next season - after the departure of Jordan Williams. Wally Judge is transferring from Kansas State, and he's down to 2 schools of thought - MD and Rutgers. Judge was generally regarded as a top 20 recruit 2 years ago and is listed at 6'9 248. He was a disappointment at Kansas State, but he's still regarded as an outstanding talent - and sometimes bigs just take more time to develop. In order to be eligible for next season, he'd have to get a hardship waiver. That supposedly could happen if it's determined he has to go to school closer to home. Since he grew up in this area, one would think that if he gets the waiver, he's going to MD.

Jordan Williams better hope he isn't drafted by the Wizards. I mean, I've expressed my thoughts on this in the past, he might as well quit than get fired. He can't recruit, this area has the best bball talent in the country yet he can't get 1 guy to commit to his program.

When you're relying your career on a guy like Jordan Williams, there's a problem.

Gary doesn't cheat. He doesn't even touch the gray area. Rudy Gay was willing to come here, and than Calhoun pulls his dirty tactics and snatches him up? How many times has UCONN been sanctioned by the NCAA? As a Georgetown fan, you know how dirty that program is. I'd rather lose with Gary than win with scum like Calhoun.

Has he gone too far in refusing to "work with" the less than ethical AAU coaches that help steer the top recruits? Maybe. But I agree with you, mhd. I'd rather lose with Gary than win with guys like Calhoun.
