Kobe LEGEND time, and Phil messing with us; Important topics

Post#1 » by Imadogg » Thu May 5, 2011 6:25 am

Another post-loss Lakers thread yes... but it's by me and it's not random **** like "trade pau"

Anyways:

1. Time for Kobe to add to his legend. Recently the media has been on him for not being clutch in the playoffs, for being average, for missing his last 5 "clutch" shots... let's do this Kobe. Take charge. Come back with a vengeance. I will love you forever. You're a legend already. But this can hurt. If you lead us to win the series, this will be **** absurd. It will help so much and you will be god.

.......................

2. Phil tonight... someone explain to me what he's doing. Why is Kobe not playing 44 minutes minimum? Why the FOCK is Steve Blake out there for so long? Missing open shots and fcking up over and OVER and OVER again? This is the playoffs. Not time to play zen mindgames, and to teach zen lessons for the Lakers to learn for the future.... this is the playoffs. Let's do this. If Steve Blake is sucking bags of dicks, pull him and put Kobe out there. Wtf is going on?

kobe has the want and the will. unfortunately this year's kobe doesn't have that MJ-type inevitability feel to him

its lockout year after these playoffs. you can bet kobe is going to petition phil for more minutes. phil, well phil's not one to let the significance of the occasion to get away from him. he'll adjust and lean on his best players more.

Kobe can only do so much. I feel like he's played really well all things considered, eerily similar to 98 Jordan in the way he gambles on defense, works in the post, and shoots the jumper.

We've had 1 game where more than 2 players have played well this postseason.

Its up to kobes teammates to not let him down, and help his legend, not the other way around.

Yeah, but these are now must wins, we have to put it all into these games, because there's no "but he needs to be saved for..."

If Kobe wanted to play more minutes he'd be playing more minutes. He has as much control over that as Phil Jackson does.

Imo Kobe's more banged up than what we like to believe. Did his private medical team ever reveal what the MRI said? Of course he doesn't have to but it seems like something's up.

Kobe would play 48 if it was up to him, but it would be bad cuz he would probably be useless for the last 5 at his age. There's no way Kobe is choosing to play under 40 minutes, unless you're saying his "private medical team" is the one controlling his minutes and keeping him sitting.

He's "saved his body" in the regular season for a reason...

I want to say that, I was still on a major high for the 2010 NBA championship, I really don't know how I will handle it if they don't win this year.

You really have to blame Phil Jackson though. He actually had, Fisher and Blake and Brown on the court at the same time. Blake doesn't want to shoot, can't shoot, can't pass. Fisher can't play defense, and Brown was shooting ill advised shots. If I am not mistaken the Lakers were still within 4 points of the game.

We needed points, and Phil was keeping one of the worst offensive lineups out there because...? That lineup went -5 for their stint, and the Lakers couldn't recover. =/ Lakers MUST take Games 3 and 4 for me to not release my anger on someones face.

Work it into Bynum, drive on Dirk, draw fouls. WIN THE GAME!

Our players are who they are. Kobe is out there giving effort, but he's not the same player he was a while ago. I don't place any lion share of blame on him.

I know you wanted to get away from harping on Gasol, but he's really where the buck stops. If he's playing like the Pau we've grown to know, this series is different.

Kobe and Pau haven't been on the same page all year... There's some kind of rift there...

Last season, those two guys ran the show. They were constantly communicating with each other and as a unified force to the team...

This season, they both seem to be in their own world. I never see them talking to each other and neither seems to know what's going on with the other on the court. And as a result, the whole team is slow, dribbles too much, and isn't making the extra pass.

Phil usually tightens up the rotations for the playoffs. Kobe and Pau usually play most of the game and the rest rotate in and out as needed. Bynum could probably play longer too, but I'm with the rest who don't get what's going on there.

This is the first season in a while that I didn't have a lot of faith in this team. I hope it's just the prelude to greatness, but I just don't see us pulling it together in time...

Right now, Dallas is the well-oiled team with a clear purpose and poise... That's usually us in the playoffs.

Imo his minutes are a direct correlation to the condition of his foot and any other injuries he's sustained.

And I still stand by my Kobe statement. He's almost like a coach on the floor anyway, if he really wanted to be playing more minutes he would be. Thats what Kobe is and thats what he does. Unfortunately no one wins against Father Time and even Kobe has to take measures against that like sitting out practices throughout the year and taking more jumpers.

They were on the same page to start the season, which is to say that the team was firing on all cylinders before Bynum returned and pushed Pau back out to the perimeter. I think the problem is between Pau and Bynum, not Pau and Kobe. Pau also plays considerably better when he's on the floor with Odom.

I'm not saying that this is Bynum's fault, but I've been saying for years now that Bynum/Pau just don't work well together on the offensive end. I don't know what the solution is, to be perfectly honest. We're a better defensive team with Bynum in the middle, but our offense is worlds better with Odom and Pau playing together. That's not even debatable. I used to think that this was a good problem to have and that we'd eventually figure it out, but we really haven't.

there's no rift between kobe and pau. pau is just sucking right now plain and simple.
Only on realgm is 27,000 points, 5 rings, 1 rs mvp and 2 finals mvp considered overrated!
