right... but isnt this whole thing based on a simulation thing to see who makes the playoffs, and who wins in the playoffs? if that is the case, then building a win now team would be much better than picking players you think will blossom in a few years correct?

Last time the simulation did not even end up happening.

Mostly I think the focus is on being a GM and building the team you want. Trying to make the best 2K11 team is great, but its not the only way to be a successful GM. And with the way the draft is slotted, not everyone will have a chance at stars.

Like I said before, I have the #18, #43 and #78 picks. I guess I could try and trade up to get a superstar at the expense of a weaker overall roster. But I'll probably try and go with a young, potential type team. I doubt having a really star studded team is even an option where I am picking. Also, 2K11 has some biases with player rankings that not everyone will agree with.

I'd rather get the players I want than chose a lesser player that 2K11 over-rates. For example Dirk is rated lower than Blake Griffin. Sure I'd take Griffin long term because of age, but if I wanted to win today I'd take Dirk without any second thought.

Well, I'm still trying to wrinkle out the judging system, but there will be a "future" section. So if you go really young...you'll get scored high there.

Like you said in your last posts...try to build a mixture of it. Some young guys, with some vets.

I'll up this offer to a 2nd (18th) and a 4th (18th).

Man, I just checked Jrue lousy 2K11 rating... 70. Ranked 38th best PG in the NBA.

That really stinks. makes him equivalent to Derick Fisher, Randy Foye and jason 'White Ckocolate" Williams.

What a joke. For reference Jason Kidd is an 83. Collison and 80!, Devin Harris a 78, Lawson a 75. Even TJ Ford and Rafer Alston are better at 72.

What an absolute joke. This is why you have to pick the players you want and not solely go by 2k11 rankings. That is, unless you think Jrue and Jason Williams are interchangeable...

Here is an example of someone who "corrected" the Sixers players:

http://nba-2k.com/nba-2k11-philadelphia ... r-patches/

Jrue 70 -> 79
ET: 76->70
Brand: 73->78
Young: 71->75

The rest stayed about the same as the defaults. And IMO these "corrected" ratings seem much more in line with my view of those players last year.

PK5, the ratings I listed where the default 2k11 ratings. That is what Jrue is unless there is some new patch I am unaware of. I guess you could have explosion alter the default rankings, but I doubt that is the plan.

As for trades, I have the #18 pick.

I'd take your #2, #3 and #5 for my #1, #8 and #9.

In fact I'll take the best bidder for my #18 overall first rounder. But it has to be for a combo of high picks. i have zero interest in extra picks past the 5th round.

Just give me a few minutes to go over that deal. I like it.

As for 2K11, yeah...I'll leave it up to Explosion. I honestly don't know how to upload rosters, and if we could, can we upload it into the season?

PK5, let me know.

I do want to leave it open a little bit for open bidding. But if you accept than I'l take your deal unless someone completely blows your offer out of the water (like a later 1, 2, 4.) So if someone else offers the same deal with a minor sweetener (like not needing my 8th and 9th rounders) I'd stick with you since you were the first to step forward.

I'd rather the 3rd instead of the 4th, but I'll keep it in consideration.

PK5, this Is why the trade could work for both of us:

At #18 there will be star talent to pair with your #13 to have an elite, win now type team. You get a true #1 franchise guy at #13 and a 1a at #18.

But from my perspective, the #18 likely will not be a true #1 stud, so I'd rather build a young/deep squad with multiple 2nd and 3rd rounders and then get a good bench.

You can take out the 9th rounder. So...

Suns Send: 2nd, 3rd, and 5th

Super Sonics Send: 1st and 8th

Take your time though.

Great. Put it this way:

David Aldridge reports the Sonics and Suns are currently having high level conversations about a major draft day trade. High level sources state that a tentative deal is in place, involving the Sonics flipping the #1 and #8 picks for the Suns #2, #3 and #5... but the Sonics have been dragging their feet hoping to draw a bigger retrun on their #1. These same sources say that a deal should be done in the next 24hrs and to expect whomever is taken at #18 overall will not be donning a Sonics cap.

So unless someone offers a much better deal for my #18 pick (meaning a later #1 and a #2) then we've got a deal. I'll set next evening as a deadline. But as I'm pretty much expecting our deal to go through.

Just waiting for Sixerlover's ok of the deal, and it'll become final.

When discussing trades, make it absolutely certain that you agree to the deal. We had a problem with that last year, where one person thought it went down, while the other said it was just discussions.
