Favors for Kyrie?

Post#1 » by fishercob » Fri May 6, 2011 8:49 pm

With Millsap and Jefferson in tow, would that Jazz give up Favors for the #1 pick (or #2 if Williams goes first)?

Utah would probably more than likely trade Millsap and/or Jefferson before Favors, even if Favors is the only one that could net them the 1st/2nd pick.

Would anyone trade Kyrie for Favors?
Well at least we're not Detroit!

As a Wolves fan who really likes Favors, I wouldn't do this.

Sorry, I should have provided more context. I'm a Wizards fan. A lot of our posters really like Favors going back to last year pre-draft. We're set at PG, so I think something like this -- or built around it -- could appeal to our front office and fan base.

For the Wizards it could be a really solid deal. I think it would depend a lot on how confident that you are that A) McGee could either develop a great jump shot or post game and B) how confident that you are that Derrick Williams can be a high level Power Forward.

For A, if you think that McGee can develop a great jump shot, then Favors would be the guy, and if you think it's more likely that McGee can be a high level post presence, then Williams would be better.

I think Kyrie would have more value than Favors (both as a prospect as well as in terms of trade value), so if you're offering Kyrie, I think the Jazz would readily accept.

What do you think the Jazz would/should give up in addition to Favors to square the deal?

Why would the Jazz trade away the guy who was a key to the Deron Williams trade? Is Kyrie THAT good that they don't need good young talent on the forward line? We saw how far Al and Millsap got them this year.

I think if Favors was coming out this year he'd be the #1 pick. So, from my perspective you are asking the Jazz to trade down.

I'd be more inclined to move Millsap or Jefferson and #6 (heck throw #12 in there too) for Kyrie to match him up with Favors.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

No, no, no and more no. This has been discussed to death, Favors isn't moving and he has more potential than any player in this draft.

This might get it done for WAS although I'm not sure which they would prefer of Al or Millsap. I'm inclined to believe that CLE would also do the deal. Pairing Favors with Kyrie would rejuvenate that franchise.

I dont see Tor, Sac, or Minn doing it.

^Kyrie would go ahead of favors in this years draft. And chances are Kyrie will be the better player in the future. Less bust potential and no one knows if Favors will reach a fringe all-star level or not let alone a franchise player.

As a cavs fan I'd trade our top pick for jefferson,6th pick, and the 12th... But I think I'd be in the minority. Then I'd trade varejao to philly for young and speights. Then you have

Jefferson/erden
Hickson/speights
Young/jamison
Eyenga/gibson/harris
Baron/sessions/

If any of that occured I'd prob trade jamison for a sg.Then you also have 3 lottery picks

Kyrie and Derrick Williams over Favors no question. Either of those guys has a better chance of reaching their potential.

For Washington, should definitely pick Derrick Williams over trading the pick. Wall + Williams would be epic offensive duo.
