Not like he isn't telling the truth. He needs to quit worrying about relationship problems or whatever he has going on in his life and get back to being Pau Gasol.. the player that we know and love. No excuses, no matter how many shot attempts, come out and get 20 and 10 and dominate the game. Lakers will win if he scores 20+.

Yeah even Kevin Ding re-tweeted that. I was wondering if he was totally upset like the rest of us or he's just making an ass out of himself out there. I hope its the former though, he seems like a very loyal fan to be honest.

You guys won 2 **** championships with him as your #2 guy and now that i read this thread its amazing how people turn on you after a couple of bad games...seriously, you've won enough and he's been a key reason why, he might not be playing great but throwing him under the bus like that after all he's done for your team is just not right.

People are saying it out of frustration because its hard to deal with at first. When things settle down you probably won't be seeing as much of this hate Gasol is getting. Pau is a lot more important to the Lakers success than most people might think. I think the guys just need some time off to relax. I fully expect for the Lakers to bounce back next year.

I wish you were right, but a lot of people have just never bought into Gasol, even after all he's done for our franchise over the past couple of years.

I mean, even in the midst of All-Star/championship seasons in which he played an integral role, you still had guys saying his role should be relegated behind a player who'd never even been healthy for a single playoff run at that point.

Then there's all the complaints about his style of play -- some of which is very much deserved deserved, especially now -- and some of which is not. Like this drivel from an over-the-hill gangster rapper.

So I don't think there's going to be a cooling down period at all, for some. This is just the opportunity to pounce.

And now he's costing us a 3rd...

He deserves to get thrown under the bus, the FO doesn't pay him 18 mil to screw us out of a championship with his soft play. It doesn't matter what he USED to do, why should we coddle him?

Dump him for who and what? His stock is low

Better off keeping him. If you want Howard it would cost you Bynum and Odom. So your gutting your already weak bench and Bynum is your 2nd best player

Oh please, if you think Gasol is the sole reason the lakers are down 0-3 you're delusional, it might be ONE reason, but there's a lot more going on here besides that whether you see it or not

No one said he's the sole reason we're losing, he's one of the reasons, a big one at that. He's our #2 option, we don't stand a chance when he's not playing well. The stats don't lie, they have shown them time and time again, we almost never lose when Pau scores 20+. The Mavs haven't even scored 100 points in a game yet, if Pau was scoring efficiently, this series would be a different story.

I understand that our bench has contributed to the losses along with our lack of execution down the stretch, but if Pau stepped up we wouldn't have those problems in the first place. If Pau stepped up, we wouldn't have to rely so much on the bench to produce, we wouldn't have tremendous amount of trouble executing offense down the stretch.

He used to be a go to guy down the stretch but now his teammates are reluctant to even give him the ball because of his fowl play. I don't know what is wrong with him, but there's is definitely something wrong with him. I don't think this team can afford waiting to find out what's wrong...

I really don't think is just that. Its kind of the expectation that comes from playing in Los Angeles and for the Lakers. What he has done would be more than special in every other town except LA in basketball. The Lakers are the premier team here and every move by every player is under the microscope.

Some people embrace it like Magic Johnson did, Kobe Bryant has been doing and some people just detest it, like Kwame Brown and some people just can't can't handle it for too long like Pau Gasol. You get extreme adoration when you are on top of your trade and you get dog's abuse when you slip up. Its the fact of life being the premier superstar in as basketball city. Most players would love to be given the opportunity to be here.

Gasol could be putting the same performances in Memphis and he would barely sniff the all star rosters, not to mention all NBA teams. You get an added fame by doing it in LA and along with the glamor and fame comes the responsibility to be on top of your game.

Pau isn't the first one to suffer from this. Many players see this when the standard slips at a premier sports team. From my favorite club, van Nistelrooy was a demi-god in Manchester, playing for United and winning golden boots for fun for 5 years. The instant he slipped up in 2006, he was dropped from the first team in the middle of the season and shipped off in the offseason.

Ronaldinho was adored in Barcelona when he won European cups for them, became the world's best player and the moment he started gaining weight, losing a step, people started booing him and he was thrown out the next summer. Sports fans are very fickle, especially ones that support highly successful teams. Pau Gasol is just finding it the hard way.

that's why lakers keep winning, because we don't have a loser mentality. we wont accept someone to coast just because he won 2 rings.

is it fair? I'm not sure but I don't really care...

Let's be honest, without Shaq wanting to start a Hollywood movie career and the ridiculous Gasol trade that Stern should have rejected, LA wouldn't be doing much winning this last decade.

Not like you draft well (Spurs) or make great free agent signings. And that was when you had the great GM Jerry West.

Lakers will always be a player just because your located in Hollywood but I think the last decade was more an exception. Not something Laker fan should expect in the next decade
