any deal with the clippers and Kaman would likely bring back a pick and/or aminu.
hopefully Thorn is heavily involved in this process and is the one calling the shots. his history with trading is pretty good.

The Minny 21012 pick is enticing but hard to predict. It mostly depends on the new CBA. If they push back draft eligibility to 2 yrs after HS (instead of the current 1 yr) then it will be a terrible draft. If they leave things as they are now, then it will be a great draft. And an Iguodala deal could happen before July 1st, so before the new CBA.
Also, Collin's has talked about taking the next step to 50 wins. It would be interesting to see if they are really willing to take a step back and wait for the 2012 draft. And then you are talking several years to know if that pick pans out.
I'm not against that type of patient approach- but it runs counter to Collins M.O.

Would you do Al Jefferson and GS 2012 1st for Iggy? Jefferson is only 26 years old

I dont mind Kamans game , he is a pretty solid player , but essentially I would like to get somebody a little bit younger than him as well. He will be 30 at the end of next season and is already showing the injury problems. He was successful with Brand before too in LA. Only reason I would do gasol over Kaman is less injury prone.
Would be interested in the Minny pick , I wonder what we could scoop up there.

I think people overrate Kaman here. I'm not really that big of a fan. Iguodala is just a better player and brings more to the table. If I were to trade Iguodala, I'd want better than Kaman. If not, I keep him.
I like Jefferson, but he plays no defense, has injury history and we already have Brand. I don't like the idea of Jefferson at center even a little bit.

Re: Official Andre Iguodala Trade Discussion and Rumors Thread
Definitely no to Gay. Too long of contract.
Yes to either Bynum or Gasol. Bynum, although very injury prone, is one of the few LEGIT centers in the league. While Pau, although older, is still a 20/10 guy. He could play C too.
Clippers...maybe. Kaman would come back because of the money, but the only pick they have is the 2012 Minny pick. Definitely would think about that deal. Aminu...depends if he can play the 3.
I think if Minny doesn't get the #1 pick, maybe even the two, they would look to trade their pick. Kahn reportedly wants to get some vets on the team. Plus, he's an idiot so making a deal won't be hard.
Looking forward to seeing the "reported' deals going on...WHERE IS SF76!?!?!

I like Gasol for Iggy, right now if seems like Gasol is not really meshing with his teammates on the Lakers, and with Bymun, and if the Lakers are really feeling lucky, they can try to trade Bymun for Howard.
Lakers by midseason end up with
Fisher
Kobe
Iggy
Odom
Howard
That team would be have more athlethcism and quickness than this year's team, and with Iggy you would really be able to run the triangle still on offense.

Re: Official Andre Iguodala Trade Discussion and Rumors Thread
It'd be so hard to let Iguodala go. Like WB said, I'm not taking Kaman for Iguodala. I'll take Bynum (even if he acted like a child today) or Gasol. I prefer Bynum because of his youth, but because of his youth I believe he is less likely to get traded for Iguodala. Even though it's not possible, Iguodala is undoubtedly included in any D12 trade.

I'm concerned about Gay's injury but I'd pull the trigger on an Iguodala for Gay or Al Jefferson trade. I don't want anything to do with Gasol at this point. He looked like a soft quitter playing with Kobe in the playoffs so he will look worse playing with the Sixers scrubs. I see him having a Keith Van Horn, Derrick Coleman, Chris Webber, or Glen Robinson impact if he ever got traded to the Sixers. Hell no to Gasol, and double hell no to Kaman.

Why would people want Gasol? This isn't a contending team. We want to get younger or rather stay young. Where would you play Gasol at? Center? He's not really a defensive presence.
Gasol is a bad move IMO and just desired by people who want the sizzle of a big name.

Re: Official Andre Iguodala Trade Discussion and Rumors Thread
I agree WB. A younger center is definitley desired over Gasol if that option is available. For Iguodala, Bynum probably the best case scenario...if LA would consider it. Kaman is the same age as Gasol, so not sure why he's looked at as a young piece anymore...

Why no love for Al Jefferson? Dude has never even had a chance to perform in the playoffs. I see Zach Randolph when I look at Al Jefferson. How good would we be with Jefferson?

It has nothing to do with a big name. It's a 20/10 big. Pair him with Brand, and that's a very strong front court. Even though Gasol isn't a textbook C, there are really only maybe 6 or 7 good "centers" in the league. If Turner improves like we think/hope we should, Jrue takes the step like many PGs have the past few years, this could be a 55 win team next year. Certainly a risk, but I rather see our team take a risk than just stick with Iggy and say this team is OK. That's why I'll never slam Ed for the Brand deal...it was something he needed to do.
Although now seeing Gasol's contract I take back my statement of definitely doing a deal for him. I thought his deal ended when Brand's did. Which would of been mucho money.

Re: Official Andre Iguodala Trade Discussion and Rumors Thread
Gasol would mean 50 wins. He is one of the best low post players in the league and he is a legit 7'0 footer. He is the reason why the Lakers won the last couple years. It was considered a steal when the Lakers got him for nothing. If the Lakers want to clean house he is the only big contract i would take back. There aren't too many talented bigs in this league that can actually play. I for one would dump Iggys contract for Kaman and a pick. Or to Cleveland for a high pick plus cap relief. But Gasol would instantly make this team better and would give this team 2 years while with Brand to make a small run. Rudy Gay? Hell no. His contact is worse then Iggys and he isn't much better then Iggy.

It's just something about him. Although talented, I wouldn't trade him. Honestly can't tell you why though. Jefferson/Brand isn't a great front court either, but then again...it would be a MAJOR improvement over Hawes/Brand.
Still, no from me. Just seems like a loser to me...then again he was on the KG-less Celtics, the T'Wolves, and then the DWill-less Jazz so who knows? I just don't think he is in the upper echelon like a Gasol is.

Its a a thought. I think the Sixers could land a Gasol or Jefferson. And anytime you can land a big that can play, you certainly give up a small for him. A good big is worth more then a good small. Small players like guards and SF's are a dime a dozen.

Sixers should try going after Marcin Gortat, might require getting rid of Iggy and 1st Round Pick (or 2), but I think it's worth it if Doug wants to see a 50 win team.
No way are the Jazz getting rid of Al Jefferson AND a 1st Round Pick.

Trades I would do...
Iggy/1st for Bogut/Dooling.
Trade Turner for starting SF such as Wes Johnson.
Or
Iggy/1st/Speights for Kaman/Aminu
Or
Iggy for Sacto's pick and Casspi and cap space.
I can't think of more for now.

Re: Official Andre Iguodala Trade Discussion and Rumors Thread
I don't think the people talking about a Bynum/Iggy deal are being realistic. The Lakers could have gotten Melo for Bynum before the deadline but declined. That just shows you have vaulable a young big man is considering his injury history.
We are not going to get a decent big for Iggy. Wing players are a dime a dozn and big men are so hard to find that anyone over 6'10 that can run the floor gets a big longterm deal.
Everytime i see that 3 years and 56 million left on his deal it leads me more to believe that he has no value. We would be lucky to get a salary dump and a mid first rounded. I think the sixers are starting to become desperate enough that they will finally take what they can get.

Re: Official Andre Iguodala Trade Discussion and Rumors Thread
I'd take al Jefferson for Iguodala. He's still only 26 and is as close of a go to guy down low we can realistically get.
If we can nab a 26 year old solid big to grow with Jrue, et etc. I'd take it.
Utah has favors and Milsap.... So it could be possible.
Jeff could play center with brand, and if he works out...when brand expires we would have our low post guy. Him and brand can both hit the jumper, and post up... So I can see them working together at the same time.
Honestly, this Iguodala rumor mill has been circulating long enough.. His body language, and actions lately all point towards him not being too happy. It would be best to cut ties, and get something of somewhat value now... Rather than wait too long and be left with scraps.
