I hope he got good information. I am just scared he was lied to and could go in the 2nd round.
I also want what is good for the Canadian players in the long-run and care a lot less about the short-term. Whatever will help them develop and reach their potential is what I want. If going to the NBA is the answer then so be it. I wish both of them the best of luck and hope things work out for him.

The Knicks were one of the teams conducting the workout. It wouldn't surprise me to see them snatch up Joseph. I believe they have a 1st rd'r, but also a couple of 2nd rd'rs. So, Czar, you may be on to something.
EDIT: I don't think they have any 2nd rd'rs as of now, but they could acquire some.

This was from earlier today, it looks like he did well. Nice to see that Jay was there too.
And it's the same decision awaiting Joseph, a freshman who several NBA scouts, coaches and executives touted as one of the standouts in yesterday's draft combine at the Nets' East Rutherford practice facility.
Joseph, a Toronto product who spoke with Raptors coach Jay Triano afterward, also is split. One Eastern Conference executive said in his estimation Joseph and Peterson "were the standout guys" among the 22 draft hopefuls who auditioned for 29 of the 30 NBA teams (no Detroit). Another group of 22 auditions today.
"Very rough decision. Right now, it's 50-50. It could go either way," said Joseph. "I've got to sit with my mom and make my decision [today]. Everyone has their opinion but everyone is telling me to do what's best for me."
Joseph described himself as "a guy who will try to do whatever it takes to win, whether it's taking a charge, passing distributing the ball, knocking down open threes. People describe me as someone who works hard gets out there and is able to shoot."

I don't understand why anybody would want to be drafted in the 2nd round. Hoping his information is rock solid. Be great to have two Canadians drafted in the first round but as CZAR said " I am stunned"

Since my statement (in my sig) about Enes Kanter didn't rustle too many feathers I'm going to make a bigger one. Iman Shumpert will be just as good, if not better than both Brandon Knight and Kemba Walker AND the steal of the draft.

New DX mock:
http://www.draftexpress.com/nba-mock-draft/2011/
Kemba moves up to 3, Valanciunas down to 4, Vesely the biggest mover to 6, and Kanter drops a spot to 8.
This is pre-lottery of course.

I find it very unlikely that we'd pass up Kanter, Biyombo, Valanciunas, and Knight for Kemba...but who knows.

Yeah, me too.
If BC's in charge, we'll take Knight or Kanter, with Biyombo in the mix imo.

I think he'd have to be pretty high on Kemba to take him, considering the age difference. In a sense that could mean that he thinks he's going to be really successful though, because at least if it was a tossup between the two PGs I think he'd go with the younger, bigger Knight.
But you bring up a good point, we're not sure if BC will be here, and there's no telling what will happen if Jim Kelly's in charge

Or, I think it could happen if Kanter is red-flagged by the team after workouts, interviews, or like you said, BC & Embry co. like Walker enough to pick him.
But, I agree. If anything, Embry would be more likely to pick Kemba than BC.

Re: Official Raptors 2011 NBA Draft Thread, Part 8
People are so obsessed with a prospect being 18 years old instead of 21. If the kid can ball, I don't give a crap what age he is.
If Kemba Walker goes into workouts & completely knocks their socks off, you don't take Knight because he's 3 years younger (even though didn't look anywhere near as good as Kemba).
It wouldn't surprise me at all if Kemba made his way into the top 3. The guy can flat out ball & he is a massive competitor.
Knight is soo overrated on this board. The kid is a huge project. Everyone has visions of Rondo dancing in their heads, but the chance of him becoming anywhere near as good as Rondo are very, very slim.
A project of Knight's calibre should be taken somewhere around the 10th pick or later (see Derozan).
So many people have been worshiping Knight all season, but there is a reason DX & ESPN have both rated Kemba as the better PG prospect all season (& have him slated as being drafted higher). I'm not sure why people choose to ignore this.
Who knows....maybe with a lot of patience & hard work, Knight "might" become a good PG after 3-4 years. Personally, I'm not using my top 5 pick on a player that "might" learn how to play his position in 4 years.

I agree whole heartedly that Knight is overrated... but what I'm curious about is how is Jonas still ranked top 5 and Biyombo and Kanter are 7 and 8. Is his potential that highly thought of?? TBH I think he is the most overrated prospect on the DE.

I am so confused...
who I like outside of Irving & Derrick Williams...
Biyombo, Knight, Walker and Kanter if we get one of those I THINK I`m ok with that.

Same here. Even tho Bayless finished strong, Kemba can be a dynamic PG if his game translates 100% to the NBA

If he has the same game in the NBa as he had in NCAA (unlikely to be that good, but give t to him anyway) then you've got a VERY undersized 2-guard with poor efficiency. Kemba is the absolute definition of a chucker and Toronto fans would HATE him. Think Jonny Flynn with lower PG skills and lower efficiency. If you like the idea of using Bayless' minutes on a guy like that, then Kemba is your man.
For the Raptors, based on the combination of NCAA/Euro results, talent projection, and fit, the draft board right now looks, to me, like this:
Williams - Biggest hole on the raps is at SF. Good outside shooter. Varies offensive game. Efficient. Good rebounder at the 3. Hard worker. Smart kid.
Irving - Probably most premium talent but more question marks than Williams. Could split minutes with Bayless early and then one can be moved if both are good commodities. PG and C tie as raptor 2nd need.
Biyombo - I have him ahead of Kanter/Jonas based on his ceiling and results in a real basketball league. Also fits the 2nd biggest need (Defensive C). International player is a good fit for now and the future with the Raps. Doesn't need shots to perform, wll make DD and Ed and Bayless better by being a lob target and by swatting shots. Probably my favorite guy in the draft right now for this team.
Kanter - Hard to know since he hasn't played in so long, but he's got a great array of below-the basket moves and he's a full-sized kid at 6'11" and 265. Won't really help the D but gives you a different look than Ed/Amir. Hope you get an Al Jefferson type player.
At this point I have Knight and Jonas - Knight is a bad fit as a similar player to Bayless and Jonas is, for me, a big question mark and the biggest potential bust. If the raptors pick 5 and those 4 are off the board then I don't know what to do. I'm hoping it doesn't come to that.
"JJ is a fineness player." - knickerbocker2k2 (meaning to say "finesse", about James Johnson)

I'm telling you guys right now, Jan Vesley will be the best player from this draft 3 years from now
He's potential is amazing....i saw him play live about 2-3 times...
6'11, moves like a Small forward.....Lamar Odomesque....Dunks everything...and he's raw...
that's what I like about him...he doesn't back down...he's not a pu$$y, excuse my french
Very skinny, but nothing NBA trainers can't fix.....
Whoever picks him 5-6th is gonna get a really good player
He's been playing professional basketball for 5 years, at highest levels in europe, he's battle tested

I really wish Kanter played in NCAA tournament...its so hard to judge by those high-school mixes and 1-2 tournament games
What we do know is that John Calipari consistently puts out best NBA ballers out there....
I trust him.....His track record of preparing athlete: Drose- MVP, john wall, tyreke evans-ROY
