Not saying that makes it any better, but Malone's shot wasn't unnecessary like Bynum's was.
Malone's shot was much dirtier than Bynum's, and he had a history of doing this throughout the years.
I was a little kid when the Mailman was beginning his career, so I remember Malone mostly as a stud player rather than a cheapshot artist, but my overall opinion of him would be much lower if I had watched the crap he pulled beginning with his career at Louisiana Tech. I'd have no problem with suspending someone like Malone for the season for these types of shots.
No it wasn't. Malone had his hands up and was at least making a show of trying to go for the ball.
