Re: 2010/11 Bundesliga-Thread
On some German soccer Internet pages.
I'd say it's kinda unlikely that they can get a transfer done considering Arsenal is not really known for paying top transfer fee's. Götze still has a contract till 2014, too.

^ The fee was less than 6 million euros too. That's a steal.

Re: 2010/11 Bundesliga-Thread
It's kinda sad to see young players go for money rather than individual perspective.
He'll have to fight for his spot on the team with Lass Diarra and Khedira.
The other spots in the midfield are pretty much locked up. Alonso is the 2nd defensive midfielder, Sahin has no business playing on the wings and the central midfield is reserved for Kaka and Özil.

That's more than a steal, it's **** robbery, guess Dortmund's monetary situation isn't nearly as settled as they want everyone to believe otherwise there's absolutely no way all they could get for a talent like Sahin is 6 mil.

He's going to play beside Alonso IMO. I think he's a better option than Khedira and definitely Lass.
Casillas
Ramos - Carvalho - Pepe - Marcelo
Alonso - Sahin
Di Maria - Ozil - Ronaldo
Higuain?
is my guess. Just need a world class CB

Re: 2010/11 Bundesliga-Thread
The 6 mil Euros is kind of a steal but I presume his offered wages would be pretty high.
It doesn't matter who they get unless they change their attitude to play the game positively. Mourinho just sat out Kaka, Benzema, Higauain for the most important games of their season, that's 130 mil Euros of investment right there.

It's not the way they always play though. They are an attacking team who's scored over 100 goals this year. They were strategizing to combat Barcas style. Arsenal were nearly successful playing a far more negative style than they normally do as well. The best chance against Barca remain to play defensively and keep it tied, push up in the last 25-30 minutes and try and grab a late goal. If Van Persie and Pepe weren't red carded poorly, it could have worked, and then people would talk about a fantastic defensive display like Inter.

Arsenal didn't play 5 defenders and a winger at center forward. They had a moderate success by stretching the pitch and pressing well, which Real could have done and hit Barca on the counters with pace of Di Maria, Ronaldo and Ozil/Kaka. They instead chose to park the bus and hope Ronaldo scores from a set piece.

Sahin had a release clause and he wanted to leave. Not much Dortmund could do about the transfer.
It think he would be a great fit in Barcelona... not so sure about Madrid.

I think they would have tried to push more as the game wore on. As Barca tire it's easier to catch them. If Pepe hadnt of been sent off, they would have attacked at the end I think. Keep it tight, shorten the game, bring on Kaka (or Arshavin) around the 65 minute mark and try to make it happen.

Rumor: Cologne interested to hire Stale Solbakken as Coach. Currently he's coaching in Copenhagen.
Does anybody here knows something about him?

But unlike Arsenal, Real had the personnel to effectively use that strategy. Ronaldo is not your typical winger - who in fact played upfront for both United and Portugal at times - and using Pepe as the DM proved to be a great move. Like IronChef said, everything went according to plan until Pepe got sent off.

Looks like Nils Petersen will either go to Munich or Hamburg.
I hope he goes to Hamburg. Munich would ruin his career considering he would only get very few minutes there behind Gomez, Müller and possibly Olic.

Prefer if he went to Dortmund, Leverkusen or Mainz. All seem to develop young players well, Tuchel especially did well developing young players this season. Dortmund need cover for Barrios.

I dunno, a part of me thinks Gomez will go back to the bum he had been his previous years in Munich. Add Olic still recovering from injuries and Mueller playing a lot of midfield and a striker could actually find some serious PT with Bayern, that said I still don't think they're a great fit for young attacking players.

Re: 2010/11 Bundesliga-Thread
Ekici goes from Nürnberg to Bremen and Munich gets 5 Mil. € from Bremen (he was on loan to Nürnberg).
That's a good move for Ekici. I think he'll develop well in Bremen.
I wonder what Munich will do with David Alaba. Love that guy. Another season in Hoffenheim is probably best for both teams.
